本が好きなだけ読めると思って歴史研究者になったのに、仕事が多すぎて普通の人より読む時間ないような気がする今日この頃。つらい。

It is correct to put the "so-called" because the term "comfort women" was originally a euphemism to refer to those conscripted and deceived into sexual work and enslavement. It doesn't mean the author (Tessa) doubts their existence or experience.

某国の暴力的で無秩序な移民逮捕やそれに対する周辺住民の抵抗の動画がたくさん流れてきて心を痛める日々だけれども。。。

日本も1947年から1961年の間に182,700人の在日朝鮮人を逮捕、強制送還したってこと忘れがち。1952年までは日本国籍があったにも関わらず。

愕然とせざる得ません。ラムザイヤー氏は、日本におけるまた別のマイノリティーに焦点を移し、論文発表をしているようです。Law and economics、また他に「歴史に基づいた」理論形成をしている分野にとって、そもそも歴史がどうであったか、という基礎に価値はないのでしょうか。まったく想像された、現実から乖離した前提をあたかも史実のように著し、モデル形成することに、「害」以外の何があるのでしょうか。マイノリティーを扱う言論に、わかる限りの正しさを要求することは、最低限の研究、出版倫理ではないでしょうか。

とりあえずはホッとしていたのでした。ところが、査読者、編集者たちはラ氏の元論文や先生のrebuttalの内容を理解していないばかりか、見当違いな書き直しの要求をしてきました。また、先生のrebuttalが掲載された場合、それに対するラムザイヤー氏の返答が載せられ、そこで議論は終わりということになるのですが、ラ氏の返答の査読が、歴史を知る研究者によることが保証されないため、先生はrebuttalの出版をやめ、このようにオープンソースという形で公表されました。元論文に注目が集まるのも先生の本意ではないとは思います。が、改めて先生の反論を読んでも、ラ氏のあまりに明らかな歪曲の仕方に

当時私ふくめ多数の歴史研究者は、同氏による慰安婦に関する論文のファクトチェックを行なっていたため、当然氏によるこの論文も読んだのでした。実は、同氏の慰安婦論文よりも、こちらの在日コリアンに関する論文のほうが、史料の歪曲、史実の改ざんが直球的に顕れており、また、こちらも学術誌に掲載されたことから、由々しき問題であることが明らかでした。コロナ非常事態下で慰安婦論文への対応で疲労が増していた私たちは、如何すべきかと焦りを覚えましたが、英語圏で在日コリアン史の大家であるモリスースズキ先生が、このように詳細な検討をrebuttalとして書き、編集者におくったということを先生から聞き、
