Catching up with 'The War Between', it makes me wish there was way more British SF TV like this being made at the moment (esp with a political thriller/critical engagement vibe); it feels like a kind of adult-oriented TV drama that's rarely invested in & supported by the current UK TV industry
Don’t think so, but I’m hoping to write it up for publication & can let you know about that. The audience was a mix of magazine studies’ academics and Who fans, and now I’m off to see the Gutenberg printing press at the Gutenberg Museum; Mainz is a great place for DWM to be analysed and discussed :)
Looking forward to presenting this new work later today, on the current era of Doctor Who Magazine and what I'm terming its "upbeat individualised inclusivity". I'll be discussing how today's DWM challenges fan gatekeeping but also resonates with consumerist "brandom"
