A scientific poster describing loos, a suite of tools for analyzing molecular simulations
If youβre interested in developing new methods to analyze molecular simulations, come see my poster today at B400. οΏΌ

Excited to be sharing what I was up to during my PhD here at #bps2026
If you miss the poster today Iβll also be giving a talk Tuesday at 11:45am in room 209/210/211!
Excited to share I successfully defended my thesis last week! I cannot thank @agrossfield.bsky.social enough for all of his guidance and support throughout this entire process. Keep your eyes out for publications of this work hopefully coming soon!
Honored to have been able to present my work at this yearβs GRS on Computer Aided Drug Design. Unfortunately I cant stay for the whole GRC but thanks to everyone who gave such great feedback at my poster and all the great science shared over the weekend!
I'm appalled by the USDA's decision to pause funding to the University of Maine System.
This will hurt our farmers, halt critical research, and impact students throughout Maine.
Once again, our state is being targeted for retributionβall because our officials are standing up for the rule of law.
So proud of my home state for standing up against this attack by the federal government, at the same time my heart aches for everyone effected
New escalation of direct censorship of fully vetted research that is well underway, at significant cost, & employing many highly-skilled people who will face immediate layoffs without warning
When you stop a research project in the middle, you don't get half of the information. You may waste it all
In βWay of the Kingsβ thereβs a cursed king who doesnβt know whether he will wake up a genius or an idiot each morning.
Thatβs how I am now with anger. Today I am very angry.
For those of you still looking, my UMaine colleague Tim Waring has a fully funded 4-year PhD position to research how people learn and adapt to the threats of tick-borne disease in New England forests in relation to invasive plants:

Come see my poster today at #BPS2025 on my thesis work using MD techniques to work toward developing opioid overdose therapeutics!
Akshara Sharma from @agrossfield.bsky.social group is presenting his work sampling phase separation in model membranes today at #BPS2025, go visit him at board 258!
Happening now at #BPS2025 @agrossfield.bsky.social presenting his poster on the new release of LOOS (also go see the adorable picture of lab mascot Goose)
Honored to have received a travel award to attend #BPS2025 and to meet the Biophysical society president @popstarlab.bsky.social
Iβll be presenting my poster here at #BPS2025 at the same time as the town hall, but this is very important to attend in addition to seeing all the great science going on!
A few tips from the Early Careers Committee on how to enjoy and make the most of your BPS Annual Meeting. Read the whole thing over at biophysics.cld.bz/Biophysical-...
It's all gone. They've taken down all the CDC datasets from data.cdc.gov
Data that's critical for public health & research. Data paid for by citizens. That the government now censors.
"Do not fear those who tell the truth. Fear those who try to hide it. They are willing to sacrifice other things."
If you cannot call it what it is when all in a week: a government removes every mention of a group of people, destroys information about them en masse, bans their discussion in schools, restricts their ability to travel and starts seizing and refusing their official identification, when will you?
Why is it so difficult to get drugs where they need to go?

This perspective summarizes the challenge of estimating membrane permeability from computer models, lab assays, and animal studies. And it provides guidelines to reconcile the results of the various methods.
