3/4🧡How does the S-layer grow during cell division? Using pulse-chase labeling with the SpyTag-SpyCatcher system, we discovered that new S-layer is inserted exclusively at the cell poles, exactly where peptidoglycan synthesis occurs. S-layer assembly and growth are tightly coordinated!
