Tragic that something with decades of history can be destroyed in such a short period of time.
I'm a big fan of metal cards and the knock-on effects their existence has on regionals. It's just very refreshing seeing every champion legend represented at these tournaments.
Brazil performing well internationally is objectively a good thing for League of Legends esports. A passionate fanbase that doesn't undersell the importance of its domestic league (something NA/EU fans are guilty of) and teams with actual brand identity and relationships with the fans / league.
This is a thought I had when someone told me they didn't enjoy Baldur's Gate 3 anymore when they hit max level. It's very strange to me.
It's here! This has been an utter joy to work on for Dragon Age 2's 15th anniversary. Huge thank you to David Gaider for taking me through how he and all of the writers managed to get this fan favourite story finished, with no time for redrafts www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-2...
My own contribution was an analysis of how Dragon Age 2's limited development cycle actually enabled a really raw, character-focused story that probably wouldn't have happened if BioWare had more time. www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-2...
Rhi also compared the reactivity of Dragon Age 2 to Inquisition, and how the former nailed the balance between fan-service and development effort. www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-2...
Jade catalogued her first experiences with the series' most polarising entry. www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-2...
Stacey explored how characters like Isabelaβbeautiful and sexualβdon't really exist in modern media. www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-2...
It's the fifteenth anniversary of Dragon Age 2, and we did a little feature series over on TheGamer. First up was Rhi's fantastic interview with David Gaider, the progenitor of one of my favourite RPG settings. www.thegamer.com/dragon-age-2...

There hasn't been a good game since Peter Molyneux's Fable 2, at least until Peter Molyneux's Albion releases.
I really enjoyed Planet of Lana 2, it builds well on what the first established and raises the bar:

Going to play Requiem on Switch 2, I'm a sicko like that.
I wish I were an experienced iGaming and sports betting analyst, but alas...
Resident Evil Requiem combines utterly terrifying horror with action so ridiculous it had me smiling like a fool.
And somehow, despite some pacing missteps and a couple of irksome flaws, it all works. #ResidentEvilRequiem

I've launched a new interview series on women in esports! My first piece is with G2 Hel's Caltys, but I've already spoken to several more participants. If anyone feels they have a unique perspective worth sharing, then feel free to email me. www.thegamer.com/women-esport...
Bad day but can't fault the effort

TIVA is a self-funded audiobook project featuring a wealth of talent, aiming to "stand against the exploitation of artists by corporations and AI."
Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment (also known as Jade takes far too many screenshots of Zelda simulator) delivers when it comes to fierce combat and heartfelt storytelling.
It's a surprisingly evocative prequel to Tears of the Kingdom that shakes up the musou formula in some worthwhile ways.
