The current #fabtcg cosplay situation reminds me a lot of the content creator grant process. I think most of us want more transparency and clearer expectations.
I love this game so much, but it's hard when these Ls negatively affect passionate creators and disenfranchise high-quality cosplayers...
It is so easy.
That makes sense -- I think at least part of my issue was trying to play Marionette overly defensively and maintain life lead without pushing enough damage+disruption. Definitely a matchup I'm excited to explore more.
A digital drawing of author Maia Kobabe, a white nonbinary person with short brown hair wearing a patterned blue shirt, who scowls while holding up a copy of eir book GENDER QUEER: A MEMOIR. Maia is saying: H.R. 7661 is a national book banning bill which seeks to remove any book that "involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism" from all public schools in the US. This would ban my books, and any other book with trans themes, from public schools. PLEASE call your House Reps and say: NO ON H.R. 7661!

Kept the dreacts, tried to play value then pivoted to fatigue (didn't work). Definitely a skill check on how I was approaching Marionette.
Excited to continue to learn the hero but think I'll want to try Huntsman before settling on a nuu main~
r2 | L v. RKO
Conceded at time. It was my first time playing into RKO and I sideboarded off inertia and into dreacts to try to stay above on life total. Pretty sure I should've just gone all in on the damage race, but if anyone has tips on the mu please share!

They had some bad beats but did a really good job of doing guardian things until I was able to string damage and pressure together (and punish their generous gift of agility tokens from civic footsteps).
Several cards from Flesh and Blood (Arakni, Marionette as well as two opposite facing Hunter's Klaives) in front of a sapphic pride flag.

1-2 on Arakni, Marionette (CC)
First games on Marionette and first games at a new store; so it was a bit of a double vibe check~
Store seemed chill, as I'd hoped. I'm not sure the list is a good fit for me; it's very aggressive and I'll need to adapt if I want to embrace that
wow so great finally consequences for shitting on the creatives of the tabletop industry after years of zero consequences for shitting on women of the tabletop industry so cool I feel so much better about this company wow so cool so great
I love that they printed another majestic contract card π
Why not both is a very good answer imo π
Hunter or Hunted? buff~
Was excited to find Piper's (@piperbomb.bsky.social) comic in a print copy of Little Village (@littlevillage.bsky.social) at The Atlas Collective (@atlascollectiveqc.bsky.social).
A picture of a bookstore shelf including Gretchen Felker-Martin's Black Flame as well as a Community Pick placard reading- Pick from: Autumn Title: Black Flame Author: Gretchen Felker-Martin The Vibes: What if a lesbian in the 80s was just so repressedβalso she's restoring a pre-WW2 Jewish queer horror film that was confiscated by Nazi's and is haunted? ..or that's the repression? ..it's both.
Shortly after its release I'd talked up Black Flame by Gretchen Felker-Martin (@scumbelievable.bsky.social) enough at The Atlas Collective (@atlascollectiveqc.bsky.social) that they invited me to write up a community pick for it; suffice to say it remains one of my favorite reads of 2025.
this is how i find out? π₯²

The illustrator's drawing board, showing a piece of bristol with paste-ups glued to it, reading "DATAFRUTS.FM AND PIPER AND THE JAZZ PROGRAM PRESENT", folowed by an very ornate title card with bookletter caps reading JAZZY FUCKIN HOLIDAYS. Below the lettering is a portrait of a gender-ambiguous figure with buck teeth, smiling and hiding beneath a wreath of mistletoe. To the right is a piece of scrap graph-lined vellum with draft lettering on it, with various bits of un-inked text describing the charity marathon and its donation recipients (namely Trevor Project and Trans Lifeline.) A drafting pencil and eraser sit on the bottom of the drawing board.
running quite late on this -- as i have been on most things this time of year, the holidays are rough and get rougher every year -- but the 2025 Jazzy Fuckin' Holidays poster is now underway
stay tuned for deets for our fifth year running
this thanksgiving and christmas on @datafruits.bsky.social
Overall games were super grindy and rewarding, though I think I'm off Nuu for the immediate future. Definitely eager to play more Assassin as the delight of successful soul reads and generating lose-lose lines is delicious.

Got absurdly lucky with a HoH+Nuu activation clearing Herald of Erudition. Cleared spectra regularly, lined up poppers with herald turns, eventually landed a 12 damage Double Trouble. They were learning the deck in paper and conceded at time.

Duskblade is scary but I eventually managed to force an off-turn and they never built a counter again. Opponent conceded with ~20 minutes left from psychic damage.
Highlight of the match was banishing their Grasp that was blocking on a previous chainlink with an Already Dead.
r2 | W v. Viserai
OTK build, opponent was testing with some placeholder pieces. They ended up conceding with 15+ minutes in the round when they realized how many cards they had bled without approaching kill range.

Was still figuring out match pacing and I'm pretty sure letting damage leak early compounded into an exciting loss. Resolving a blind HoH and making three silver when your opponent has <10 cards in deck is powerful (even if you immediately lose to Kodachi lock).
A magenta Nalgene bottle with a prominently displayed 'I support women's wrongs' sticker, next to it sits a copy of the Flesh and Blood card 'Nuu, Alluring Desire'. A lesbian pride flag is barely visible in the background.

3-1 on Nuu (LL)
I don't think Nuu is remotely real, but I dealt so much psychic damage that it really doesn't matter.
Take Up The Mantle is totally reasonable.
Also landing a 'Hunter or Hunted?' trigger is so ~powerful~.
(image pictured is vibes~)
Huntsman main: Huntsman viable meta. Huntsman valid meta pick
LSS: No Huntsman, you can't be meta viable.
Huntsman main: good Huntsman good meta give beautiful Huntsman viable meta
LSS: Huntsman, we simply can't afford an assassin meta. Its an unjustifiable expense.
Huntsman main: jealousy professor
I'm joining on the side of yuri π
As someone who has been deeply disappointed by LSS's handling of this matter, I greatly appreciate you putting forth your perspective with such grace.
Got a little tired of the arguing on Twitter and here, so I made a video about my thoughts on the issue of GenAI in Flesh and Blood. Please share this around if this issue concerns you, and give it a watch even if you disagree. It's only 16 minutes long.

New player's first armory -- we talked a bunch and I outlined what Nuu could do, broadly speaking. Fai got a lot of early damage in and then I managed to tax enough cards out of hand turn over turn to stabilize. Thought I could get lethal but failed; was a solid game!

Super fun game; was able to do Nuu things and dismantle their hands but they did a great job keeping me marked. (iirc they also didn't know Bonds was still legal in Blitz which definitely felt like it shaped the mu a fair bit.)
