Thanks! Always appreciated : ).

I see these next five games as an opportunity to make up for points they needlessly lost over the last few weeks. They should be incredibly motivated, especially with four of the five games at the Bell Centre. Hard to imagine them not taking at least three of them.

It for sure depends on the total ask. And if Buffalo is the alternative destination. Just saying that I believe Hage alone isn't an untouchable is this instance, assuming the overall ask is reasonable.

If we're talking in the seasons since establishing himself as a top point producer on the Blues, four goals and 14 points in 19 games.

Thanks! Yeah, I see Beck as Evans' successor eventually, but definitely not now, ahead of a potential playoff run. He's still too green.

Thanks! I definitely agree that Evans is the most likely of the five to be traded in principle, but in practice I don't see the Canadiens moving a veteran centre ahead of a playoff run.

25.02.2026 14:13 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

As for Evans, I agree he shouldn't be untouchable, but the Canadiens just don't have the veterans down the middle to move him and then expect to go on a run this spring.

I just don't think the Canadiens look at it the same way, in that they have faith in Fowler and moving him for Wallstedt could be seen as a lateral move in their eyes (Wallstedt has also dropped back to Earth after an incredible start).

I think in an ideal world they have a right-handed defenseman like Guhle. However, I would put that need behind that of consistent goaltending and a legitimate second-line centre.

Thanks! I think the idea is they'd prefer to have the cap space to acquire someone else... but I find it hard to believe they could acquire someone else who could fill a hole with that cap space, when their biggest hole is in net and they seem determined to keep their current goaltending intact.
