Land of the free my arse. Land of the callous land of oppression and stupidity. Land of the gun and measles.. I only know you have schools because of gun crime.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientistβbecause the person felt she did didnβt deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeareβs Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Mafia goon: Nice house you got here...it'd be a shame if something happened to it
Media outlets: Mafia goon rules out use of force. Expresses regret at the mere thought of it
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trumpβs attempt to take Greenland.
They say they will provide Californians with βrule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.β
Parents of trans people speak out... βMy daughter has just done some trial sessions with the Rainbows as she has some friends that attend and she loved it. We are in the middle of arranging a legal name change and we were waiting for that to be sorted before we registered her. But today we were told that she canβt sign up now...
π€ We stand with every family affected by the Girlguiding policy change
What happened to this young girl is not an abstract policy debate. It's a child who was excited to be part of Rainbows with her friends, tried her sessions, loved them, was ready to join. Now she's been told she doesn't belong.
Like 95% of those are in a certain Wizard thingy π€·
Vote for an imbecile get screwed act surprised America 2025 land of the free is a joke land of the moronic.
It's creeping here to blighty too π
My earlier thoughts...
Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life.
The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.
I can't have empathy for someone who has demonised my community for a decade or more. Besides he wouldn't want me to as and again I quote "I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that β it does a lot of damage."
Charlie Kirk said of gun deaths on April 5, 2023, "I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."
Fuuuuucking hell this is absolutely RANCID
...
Yeah the irony is not lost on me, if he wasn't orange I'm pretty sure attitudes would not be so forgiving.
2/2 Kier is authoritarian and is targeting the same vulnerable people as the Orange one.
Sorry I'm distracting from the dangerous trans folk wandering about destroying society. Boils my piss
1/-So people are concerned about potential sex predators arriving here in boats. Meanwhile a convicted Felon and sexual predator is allowed onto our shores with impunity to play golf and chat to the PM whom he likes because of course he does...
wes streeting thinks adhd snd autism are made up.
given his religious extremism he probably thinks theyβre just demons in need of exorcism.

If she or any of the front bench of the new Tories showed any semblance of empathy for the elderly, the disabled, trans folk, the people suffering genocide, and valued democracy over what ever the hell is happening at the moment. I would be a little sympathetic, but no fucks given, as is deserved.

Yeah that's the overriding safety guard in my head too. It's still all a mahoussive fecking caffuffle.
- Will male police officers now have powers to strip search any woman they suspect as being trans? - What does 'biological sex' mean? Is it 1. what's on your birth certificate? 2. one's genitals? 3. hormonal? 4. chromosomes? 5. A combination of all of these? - If 1. will we all now have to carry our birth certificates around with us and present them every time we wish to urinate? If 2. Will we have to present our genitals for inspection? (in which case some trans women have vaginas)? If 3. Will we have to take a 'gender test' similar to that undergone by elite athletes? If 4. How will that be measured? - If the answer is 5 - where will intersex people go? What is deemed to be the 'correct' balance of female hormones? Will cis women with naturally high testosterone be allowed to use single sex spaces? What about cis women who are post-menopausal? - Where are trans men supposed to go if they need a single sex space? I cannot imagine the gender critical campaigners behind the Supreme Court decision would be comfortable sharing with people who are indistinguishable in almost every way from cis men (and trans men would certainly not want to do that either). And finally if, as I suspect, all of the answers to my questions above conspire to create a situation where womanhood is a tightly gatekept thing, accessible only to those who meet strict criteria, and everyone else is labelled 'not woman' - How is that a win for feminism?
Iβve asked my local MP to ask these questions to the government on my behalf. Feel free to copy and paste if useful.

...get really really bad and for everyone.
If that's the long term aim why not use trans people as the means to erode and eradicate protections for everyone. It'll also all be trans people's fault obviously.
That'll make for some happy billionaires. I'm not a billionaire are you?

...from those peaky do gooders in Brussels and use it as a further rationale or prefix to leave the European Court of Human Rights.
So currently things are bad, may get better may stay bad, or things get better for a wee bit before they...
