As a long-time reader, I appreciate all of the work you have (collectively) done over the years.
I also, bluntly, appreciate that you never sold to a larger business. You're a must-read every day, and I trust you more than any other journalistic outllet.
Thanks for everything you do.

When I look and think back, I think reports of Allie's behavior overshadowed MR's enabling.
I also can say for myself that I wasn't - at that point in time - considering how guys like Allie were enabled by others. (Not just in comics, but everywhere).

I really had forgotten how shitty Scott Allie was, and how he was enabled by Mike Richardson.
Good riddance.

I know Richardson was an absolute force in the industry, changing the landscape of comics forever, giving lots of opportunities to amazing indie work.
He also stifled a lot of great projects and creators, enabled workplace abuse, and perpetuated ineptitude all through his company.

Two things can be true about Mike Richardson:
-He was responsible for some major genre hits
AND
-He did not protect staff if they were not a white man and is responsible for a generation of queer and female editors leaving comics rather than continue in a toxic environment

Anyways, I look forward to hearing you discuss this book (if you do) in the future.
Thanks for doing a podcast for 1000+ years, gents.

...I thought of you both earlier today when I read Imperial Guardians #1 which actually DOES come out of Imperial in a couple ways.
This was the book to launch first, post-Imperial, and addresses your earlier point.
Abnett also does his "I"m going to keep making Darkhawk interesting" bit which

... the Giffen/Abnett/Lanning Annihilation et al stories. I -loved- those books. Some of my favorite comics EVER.
Your point about how the post-Imperial launches didn't seem to be BECAUSE of Imperial was smart and pointed. I've been enjoying these books, a lot.
Which is why...

I can't find the post for your podcast where you mention Marvel's Imperial-related cancellations, so I'll just post this here.
I enjoyed hearing you talk about this, as I love the Cosmic Marvel stuff - especially anything that tonally matches...

this junkballing Czech electrician is a folk hero in Japan for striking out Ohtani in the last WBC (stopped for photos/autographs etc) but he's retiring after this bc Czech league ball doesn't pay the bills.
I love the way he took in in this one last surreal moment before going back to normalcy

I feel like Dunbier is one of the BTS people whose work in the industry hasn't been appreciated enough publicly.
I'm biased, because I love OG WildStorm, the Artist Edition stuff is great, AND because Bloom County is one of my all-time favorite works.

I feel like a lot of people missed out on Dark Patterns due to the Absolute line, and they're going to be coming back to it in trade for a long, long time.
That's a new Batman perennial, right there.
