they just said βdonβt leave me hangingβ, please help me. all i can think of is βthe color of the nightβ, which is good, not bad
help! i set myself up for a big joke in a text message, and I donβt know what to do. I said βAll the colors are goodβ, and then βexcept for oneβ, and they replied with the β!!β bubble.
i figured i would just come up with something but iβve got nothing

Is this a good time to join tik tok? i have never checked it out
just a quick check on my bluesky friends - we don't want the world to end, right?
out of tin foil, but this could be a good time for cardboard box flaps!
at that point the heat shuts off and the house gets very cold. my numb, gigantic nose can't properly sense its surroundings so it accidentally bumps into objects.
"why am i crying? because i nearly broke my nose, and it's so cold. let's try the towel again."
i think there are only 2 paths forward
i set the thermostat to 65. or let's just admit it, i set it at 66. it's the age of adaptive leisure. the heat kicks on, for a bit. we have pretty good heat.
but then, the sunlight moves across the wall, toward the stat. when it hits, the reading moves, quickly readjusting to 77, or 78, 79.
having exhausted all options, by which i mean the Towel Option, i am now resigned to my reality, which is that the heat is set at 63 through the night, which is nice because i like to bury myself in covers. but in the morning, my giant nose gets cold on the tips, and i move toward the thermostat
a thermostat in direct sunlight is covered up by a colorful kitchen towel - bright oranges and reds, blues and greens on a soft yellow background, with a calendar hanging in the background and a small piece of tape holding up a flyer on the right.
i know what you're saying - why don't you just drape a kitchen towel over it, keeping the thermostat in the shade? HA! you think that's not the first thing we would all do, of course i've tried that.
i have a silly problem. it's coldest in my house in the middle of the day, when it's warmest outside. in fact, the brighter outside, the colder inside.
the thermostat is in direct sunlight. when the sun moves across it the reading quickly shifts from mid-60s to high 70s, and the heat won't trigger
from my perspective, covid-centric, of course, it's a combination of 1) most people are exhausted of hearing about it, 2) those who didn't lose anyone feel like they spent enough time thinking about it, and 3) forgetting is a blessing of sorts

Workers United and Starbucks share a commitment to developing a productive relationship in the best interests of Starbucks partners. During mediation discussions last week over ongoing brand and IP litigation, a constructive path forward emerged on the broader issues of the future of organizing and collective bargaining at Starbucks. To build on that path, Workers United and Starbucks have agreed to begin discussions on a foundational framework to achieve collective bargaining agreements for represented stores and partners, the resolution of litigation between the union and the company, including brand litigation, and a fair process for workers to organize. As a sign of good faith, Starbucks has agreed to provide workers represented by Workers United with credit card tipping and benefits announced by the company in May of 2022. While there is plenty of work ahead, coming together to develop this framework is a significant step forward and a clear demonstration of a shared commitment

Ooohh, I had forgotten that classic scary story! Perhaps the serial killer keeps leaning in to let you know to turn your lights on though
Iβm always flashing my lights twice at people around here. Then I look back in the rear view mirror to see if it helped, and always nothing. They just go on driving with no headlights on like everything is fine. π΅
just to let everyone know, if i'm driving and i flash my lights at you twice, it means you need to turn your headlights on
