I joined @simisara730cknw.bsky.social to discuss issues in Vancouver.
Ken Sim hasn't apologized to Chinese community, despite saying he would. Everyday more questions than answers emerge.
Ken has lost the moral authority to lead & should resign.
Vancouver deserves better.

A portion. I feel safest on the seawall, so I do the majority of my cycling there.
4 years ago today I decided never to have alcohol again.
- Thanks to breweries my friends hang out at for offering something other than 0% beer as an option
- Thanks to restaurants who warm me if their desserts or salad dressings contain alcohol
- Thanks to Soda Water + Lime
Big congratulations to the Vancouver Park Board! π
The Kitsilano Beach Connection on the Seaside Greenway just won a 2026 HUB Cycling Infrastructure Improvement Award. Great news for people who bike in Vancouver. π²
We should be finding ways to support and grow events like this, not lose them. 2/2

Iβm really disappointed to hear that Car Free Days in Vancouver have been cancelled this summer.
These fun, free events are the heartbeat of a vibrant community β bringing neighbours together, supporting local businesses, celebrating music, culture, and connection. They make our city feel alive.1/2
I believe that itβs my generationβs responsibility to create the winning conditions for the next generation. That social contract is broken. We need to bring young people back to Vancouver. Hereβs the full video: www.instagram.com/reel/DVUqfV4...
What unfolded next, on-camera, was one of the more bizarre exchanges in recent Vancouver political history
Over about 3 1/2 minutes Ken Sim answered every ? the same way & used versions of the word βapologyβ 20 times, according to CityNews's Joe Sadowski. #vanpoli

β1 family. 2 news networks. And a president who treats mergers like loyalty tests with no regard for the public.β
CBCβs On The Coast with @vancolour.bsky.social: Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim made false drug claim about COPE councillor
βThe whole thing feels really dirty, especially getting this statement thanking Lenny Zhou for apologizing β¦β
https://loom.ly/HH0o1as
In about 3 minutes, the Mayor of Vancouver said βI spoke with Councillor Orr & apologized for my commentsβ 16 times. That was his answer to every question about why he claimed Sean Orr had handed out illegal drugs to people on the street during Christmas.
I think we need to take a step back and acknowledge the absurdity of House Republicans targeting their Epstein investigation on HILLARY CLINTON (who says she never met him!) while ignoring DONALD TRUMP (who Epstein described as his best friend!)
These are not serious people or good faith actors.
A dome-covered ice rink under a plaza at street level in downtown Vancouver. There are big letters βSKATEβ in front of it and people are waking by. Skating was paused for maintenance while the Zamboni did a pass so the surface is wet and reflecting purple lights.
I met a friend Downtown today for lunch and then we had some extra time to hang out so I suggested we go ice skating since the rink is still open. We chatted and skated for an hour. It was fun. 10/10 recommend.

It may be true that Vancouver is a bit boring (I am now too acclimatized to judge), but Vancouver politics rarely are. There is always a storm in our teacup!

19 years after it was first conditionally approved, all levels of government have finished signing off on the necessary steps to build a school in Vancouverβs Olympic Village.
A final year of debate and planning was required to raise the number of floors for the school from 3 to 4.
We tried to speak with Sim after a public hearing ended at city hall, but Sim and Zhou quickly left through the back private door with Simβs chief of staff.
Iβll continue to let you know when we hear back.
Part 2 of 3 of a CBC series on Bitcoin ATMs:
βWe're trying our best not to profit from criminal activity,β said the CEO of a Bitcoin ATM company.
The ex-employees also know!
Itβs time for Ken Sim to act on the 2018 and 2019 VPD reports and the 2023 FINTRAC report.

Bitcoin ATMs enable the toxic drug crisis, human trafficking, and drug bosses to launder money and get rich. They are also being used to scam seniors.
Bitcoin is Ken Simβs βhill to die on.β Why does he protect criminals and refuse to act on the VPD reports?
More below: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Ken Sim appears incapable of long-term planning. Everyone knew capacity was an issue, yet the βsolutionβ only emerged when a big retail space went vacant. A rushed real estate move does not solve community safety, restore foot traffic, or address the millions more in taxes this will cost the city.
In this 2024 interview, Jack Hughes, who just scored the game-winning goal for the US Olympic hockey team, explains why it was important for him to embrace Pride Night when many other NHL players refused to do so.
Thanks to the Victoria Drive BIA for hosting such an incredible Lunar New Year Celebration. Victoria Driveβs BIA is one of our best! Happy New Year everyone.
Ken Simβs short assault on industrial lands hurts family-supporting job that funds city services.
Only 4% of Vancouverβs land is industrial.
We need more housingβand we have the land for it. @vancouverliberals.bsky.social will protect industrial lands.

Ramadan Kareem to all Muslim Vancouverites! As we begin this holy month of reflection, fasting, and community, letβs celebrate the diversity that strengthens our city. Iβm committed to a Vancouver where every voice is heard and every community thrives. Wishing you peace and blessings.
