This is a rare unicorn of a film with popular appeal and (so far) love letters from critics. The Academy should be all over it.

Ooh ooh, I've got one! Time. "Can't be fixed overnight" etc etc

Oh yeah, fair enough. A future RuPaul's drag race contestant appeared in Nip/Tuck iirc.

A frustrating thing about Ryan Murphy is that he hoovers up potentially interesting stories to make bad series.

Like, we won't see another Versace or JFK Jr film or series for many years, if ever!

Yep to this. The odd time, someone grows up super-rich and forges an interesting career (Megan Ellison, Travis Knight), but those are exceptions. Harry had the contacts to get started but not much else. You can only really make money from your life story once.

Amazing Freudian slip. Yeah, this pile is definitely going to be steaming.

Just remembered that these directors got kicked off a Star Wars film halfway through their shoot.

Kinda feels like a bad idea to sack these guys from a Star War in retrospect...and at the time!

Met an auld lad earlier who told me his family dog ran out on to the set of The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965) during filming in Smithfield, Dublin, and his family all went to see it to see their dog on the big screen.

I know a lot of you think editing a horror magazine is all fun and games, but sometimes you’ll just be proofreading an article by a top-notch interviewer like @isaacfeldberg.bsky.social and get smacked in the face with a quote that will stay with you forever.

I loved Project Hail Mary. Cinematic, funny and bursting with heart.

More than ever, it's just nice to watch a film about decent people solving problems for the greater good.

Remember guys, you can’t afford a gas rig, or a coal mine, or a nuclear power station, but you can afford to put some cheap solar panels on your roof.

That’s why the fossil fuel industry has spent billions trying to kill renewable energy.

The dealer needs to keep you addicted.

Man the Morning Show is as bad as TV gets, and it just hoovers up good actors year after year.

If I had a nickel for every time Franz Ferdinand was involved in the precursor events of a world war, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice

Counterpoint: It's a valid response to people who insist on saying "who?" under stories about public figures.

I've read one of his other collections (Theft & Finding) and thought it was great. Insightful and funny.
