In Gaza, Ramadan comes at a time of ongoing displacement & loss. Haj Mahmoud & Hajjah Sitekhwhatha's story is one of many.
The picture you see is Haj Mahmoud feeding his wife, Hajjah Sitekhwhatha as they break their fast during Ramadan. They are 77 & 74 years old & live in a tent in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
Over 20 years ago, Hajjah Sitekhwatha lost her ability to walk. Since then, Haj Mahmoud has cared for her.
In #Gaza, 80-year-old Manwa lives in a tent with her sick husband after being displaced nine times during the war.
People in Gaza face immense challenges and need care, dignity and protection.

UNRWA staff, many Palestine refugees themselves, are opening emergency shelters & responding to urgent needs. Already, over 1,300 people have arrived in UNRWA shelters in Saida & Nahr el-Bared.
Inside these shelters, families can begin to catch their breath. Through it all, UNRWA teams will remain.
Across Lebanon, over 95,000 people are now displaced.
This moment is unfolding as Palestine refugee families across the region—from Gaza to Syria to Lebanon—search for safety amid violence & loss that has become part of daily life.
