Meyers and others hold hope that a nonprofit or a regional art institution might preserve Jones’ house, turning it into a living museum dedicated not just to folk art but to the kind of community that made a phenomenon like Clyde’s Critter Crossing possible in the first place.

“Toni Cade Bambara gave us the quote, “As a culture worker who belongs to an oppressed people, my job is to make revolution irresistible.”
I define myself as a cultural organizer. And in this moment, I think culture work is what saves us. Culture is how we be. Art is the evidence of how we be.”

My research is on working class women and AI and the ONE consistency among all of the interviews we’ve done so far is concerns about data centers and environmental impact. We do not bring it up - they do. Every single one.

New Durham Bar Has 13 Seats, No Wifi, and a Lot of Charm
Soif, which opens at 331 West Main Street in early March, will serve coffee during the day and flip to serving spritzers at night.
Gerstl says he modeled Soif after coffee bars where he grew up, in Italy, where the bar is the center of the community and “everyone starts their day standing at the counter talking about sports or politics or whatever’s going on around town.”
