To be clear, most people in O&G do better when oil prices are high.

But the gains are not more widely shared. My state of NM is a great example. We have had unprecedented moves from Governor Lujan-Grisham to use oil revenue for the people: free college, childcare, and preschool. All new.

Trump has tremendous difficulty with principled people (even if as with the Iranian regime, the principles are bad). He assumes everyone is a transactional fraud like him. Works well with rich Americans and poorly with idealists of any stripe

They either didn't know Iran would shut down the Strait of Hormuz or they knew and didn't have a plan.

Either way - just totally clear they don't give a damn about what this war means for hardworking Americans.

Going Deeper: When Armageddon Enters the Chain of Command The Rise of Christian Nationalists

There are few things more dangerous than a political movement convinced that God needs help finishing His work. But that is exactly the territory we are entering now. Going Deeper:

Every one of our tech overlords has their own variant of psychosis. Karp's brain is a 5-pound bag of cooked spaghetti with a bunch of lit firecrackers in it.

Ah, yes, American Exceptionalism: the Palantir edition.

Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, Harriet Tubman, Jane Addams, FDR, MLK, etc would all be so proud.

Avoiding all products from co's led by amoral nuts takes work, but Palantir/Thiel/Karp empire is a good place to start.

I'm sure scooting on your ass in order to take someone down with your legs is a very useful skill for an fbi agent and not just shoveling taxpayer money to ufc because it's owned by trump allies

Very fair Q to this administration of perpetually disingenuous chucklefucks:

Would they spend a day or two or three’s worth of war πŸ’° to ensure these voting IDs they insist everyone needs are in the hands of every eligible voter in the USA long before midtermsβ€”no matter what it takes. If not, GTFOH

Reminder that Brent Bozell III (son of Buckleyβ€˜s close friend, brother in law and fellow activist Bozell II) was known for his vocal defense of apartheid in the 1980s. It’s not a coincidence that this administration made this man (not a diplomat, but a right-wing activist) ambassador to South Africa

Not one Democrat - in the House or Senate - not one single Democrat should vote to fund even one dollar of Trump’s illegal, stupid war. Not one fucking dollar to help fund this war.

We are helping Russia; Iran is helping Russia; Russia is helping Iran kill Americans. Classic four-dimensional chess from our Commander-in-Chief.

White House’s Witkoff vouches for Russia’s trustworthiness on Iran and alleged war assistance Confronted with evidence of Russia aiding Iran, Team Trump has shrugged, boosted Russia’s economy and vouched for Moscow’s reliability.

Confronted with evidence of Russia aiding Iran during the war, Team Trump decided to:
- shrug
- then boost Russia’s economy
- then vouch for Moscow’s trustworthiness

Subtle it is not.

Someday, the whole world is going to know why Lindsey Graham did a 180 after golfing with Donald Trump in 2017.

It would be wonderful if that day were today.
