Oh! It's the Daily. I love you @stlpublicradio.bsky.social but I would take "To The Best Of Our Knowledge" (RIP, dear TTBOOK) over this podcast any day, any hour of the week :)
Ok NPR, I am gonna need you to take a LOT less starry-eyed approach to AI public relations and FAST. Whatever I just listened to on the way to dance practice is extremely frustrating.

"I want to bring this program to OUR school!" We're working every day to answer that call β but we need *your* help *this week* β¦ by submitting a comment of support to the East-West Gateway Council of Governments. π§΅π²π

Here is that link once more to add your support to our Safe Routes to School proposal currently before EWG, #STL! ewgateway.ecointeractive.com/projects/?pl...
It just takes a second. Thank you! The youth and our local school teams are worthy of this investment! π
... it would mean so much if you'd share a comment about why you're adding your voice of support for three more years of critical work on behalf of #STL kids. Hereβs that link again β ewgateway.ecointeractive.com/projects/?pl... β if you hit βadd commentβ it'll just take a minute to fill out. 12/12
There are many needs in our communities and our world these days, all worthy of funding, and so much feels so fragile. I believe BWorksβ deep, daily investments of time, energy, expertise and access to bikes and safety equipment in our local schools is worthy of continued funding through SRTS 11/X
Also setting BWorksβ app apart is that it not only continues our proven in-school Earn-A-Bike offerings but significantly expands them to three more SLPS schools (bringing us to 8 SLPS schools total), and adds Learn-To-Ride and bike buses for every single one of the 9 total schools proposed. 10/X
Something worth noting, #STL, as you consider this request for comment: Our Safe Routes to School programming application currently under review is the only proposed education-focused program in this three-year regional cycle that serves Saint Louis Public Schools. 9/X
BWorks has a strong track record inspiring kids to care for the world around them and explore new possibilities through our bike programs, which grew by 50% last year alone. We want to keep sustaining our programs, which are always free to families and for which we continue to see record demand. 8/X
That BWorks proposal is open to public comments through this Friday, and itβs easy to comment on the East-West Gateway website, at ewgateway.ecointeractive.com/projects/?pl.... Would you take a moment to lend your voice in support of our application? 7/X
into keeping local kids safe, moving and learning. None of this work is easy, and itβs so very worth it! But thereβs no guarantee it can continue past this next school year, unless our latest Safe Routes to School application, currently under consideration, is funded. 6/X
On a personal note, itβs been one of the most joyful, challenging and meaningful projects Iβve ever gotten to work on β every single day I am floored and humbled as I see our BWorks staff and volunteers, and countless individuals within each of these six school teams, pour their hearts and souls 5/X
... program as part of their school-day experience before taking their individually chosen BWorks bikes and other cherished rewards home to keep. 4/X
This has meant that in addition to the many classes we run at BWorks and locations all across the bi-state for children and teens, every fourth grader at these six schools each year has the opportunity to complete our small-group-style, six-week-long bike safety and basic maintenance education 3/X
For nearly two full school years now, with support from critical Safe Routes to School funding, our @stlbworks.bsky.social team has gone the extra mile day in and day out to bring our unique Earn-A-Bike program to six public elementary schools all across the city. 2/X
Dear #STL and #biking networks: I could really use your help if you have a few minutes today to lend your voice in support of BWorksβ investments in #STL youth, bike education and active transportation. Hereβs why and how ... 1/X π§΅

I have been the recipient of two sweet little waves from fellow drivers in the past 24 hours, for yieldings, and it really lifted my spirits. People are not OK right now, generally speaking, and I think we all feel it. But friendly reminder to self and to you that the little kindnesses still help π
