My sympathies to you and your family. It’s so hard to lose a parent. ❤️

We are cousins then through Martha Allen Carrier. Her kids were all jailed and accused as well so for me that means Andrew Carrier. Also descended from Rebecca Towne Nurse 2x. At one point I also found out one of my ancestors signed in support of her release don’t remember who or where to find info.

Everyone I dealt with at SSA were great and really helpful but it still took multiple trips to an office and hours and hours of time to fix that. So I don’t buy the DOGE bs of it going to dead people. Much easier to believe that fresh out of school 20 year olds can be idiots with old technology.

It took months for us to establish that she was indeed alive thanks to us being in different states and her being in memory care. So it didn’t even require the usual official funeral home or police notification to social security with an actual date of death it was just a piece of stamped mail.

Personal social security story: I was a representative payee for a family member on social security and the social security administration clawed back thousands of dollars of her money because the post office stamped a piece of mail deceased and sent it back to them.

Hey #genealogy folks I donated to a scholarship today for a mentor of mine and it got me thinking about donation requests in obituaries and if anyone had some interesting ones!

My 2GGma was 12 years 11 months when she married my 2GGpa who was 19 years and 3 months. She was the youngest in her family and her dad had passed. They didn’t have their first child for over 3 years and I have wondered if that was because she was not able to have children earlier in their marriage.

Breakdown of the birthplaces from me to my 3GGs. Mostly TX and WI. When it (and if) it gets out of those states the TX line is in the south and the WI line is in the north. 3GG north dates 1804-1870.

For #genealogy folks, I pulled this together after seeing @poloniagen.bsky.social post theirs. Ancestry currently has my journeys mapped pretty close! My 3GG birthdates range between 1804-1870.
