This week, my garden is bursting with color. The poppies have multiplied.

The protest today in Fremont, CA. So many signs for so many peopke being hurt: museums. Libraries, immigrants, climate, health care, science, democracy, schools...
Quit with the empty words. Yiu bought this position so use it. Your job right now is to obstruct and slow walk everything. Use your power to impede every single call for unanimous consent.

A little reductive. For some of us our faith propels our climate action. We preach, teach and create rituals to cope with climate grief. We use our spaces of worship to create native landscapes and community gardens.
On those days when hope can’t be found and joy
has left
when the world has fallen apart
when you are seeing the dead bodies
of babies blown apart and shot
when the floods rage and the fires roar
when that bottle for cooking in the
back of the cupboard looks good
when the words hurt
What I know about hope
It’s living and loving, being brave and kind no matter
how ugly, scary, and mean the world becomes
It’s planting a tree knowing that you may never feel
its shade
What I know about hope
It’s finding twenty dollars in your coat jacket when
you didn’t have money for milk
It’s that wildflower growing on that ledge above the
waterfall
It’s getting up everyday even when your heart is
breaking, and the tears are still coming, because
you miss them so much
What I know about joy
It’s the sound of a baby laughing and a toddler
running
It’s that monarch butterfly laying eggs on the
milkweed that is growing everywhere
It’s chasing a rainbow as you walk the dog
What I know about joy
It’s sitting by the water listening to the waves breathe in and out
It’s playing a game around the table, laughing, joking, being
It’s making food to share with those
you love
It’s singing and dancing when your favorite song comes on
