Don't go too far with it! ๐คฃ
A lot of folks know me for one or two posts, and might not know I've created nine (9!) visual explanations of computer science topics, aimed at practitioners.
If you're looking for things to read this Thanksgiving, I think you'll love them.
Computer science is a lot of fun, when explained well. โค๏ธ
You are picking up programming as second job. ๐คฃ
Handy is also a great FOSS alternative supporting both Parakeet and Whisper (and written in Rust!)

Thinking of doing shout-out at next Rust NYC meetup (about hiring).
Anything special apart from directing people to the careers page?
i wrote everything that i've been kind of nervous to write about @val.town: here's how things have been going the last three years, and read to the end for how we're hiring for two people macwright.com/2025/11/11/v...
Excited for the #RustNYC talks Nov. 13!

Announcement slide for RustNYC Unconf 2025 featuring a new Safety Critical Rust track. The slide has a mint green background with the Rust crab mascot wearing a Statue of Liberty crown in the top right corner. Text describes the track as focused on all things Safety Critical, led by Xander Cesari, a key member of the Safety-Critical Rust Consortium and Rust Project Content team. A circular photo shows Xander wearing a plaid shirt and cap. Sponsor logos appear at the bottom: Materialize, Lawrence Harvey, Empathic, and Antithesis.

Our team at ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ is growing, and weโre looking for passionate engineers (at different levels) to help us push the boundaries of ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐๐ฐ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐บ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด.
- Why do you have a preference for one or the other?
- Hold on, why do we need a dedicated venv anyways?
etc....
E.g. Problem good first issue on some oss project.
- Maybe just setting up the dev environment and tests working is the problem to tackle!
- Oh the project is python, let's setup a venv....which tool do you like to use to manage python project dependencies....pip vs conda vs poetry vs uv
Something I proposed to my team:
Pick a random problem that neither the interviewee nor interviewer has seen before, and take a stab at solving it together.
The intent isn't to solve the problem, but to see how the candidate approaches problems and collaborates.
Read about this on a blog!
Best of luck for the new adventure!!! ๐
I'm looking to hire someone to help me build KCL! It's a programming lang for 3D design that we're making at Zoo. You'd be working closely with me on the KCL interpreter, the CAD API it calls, and our mechanical engineers. This is a Rust-heavy role. DM me any questions. zoo.dev/jobs/4619187...
