"Radigue pursued an exciting musical life, moving from electroacoustic feedback to electronic music (with the help of her inseparable ARP 2500) and finally reinventing herself through fruitful collaborations with numerous instrumentalists.”

Another generous review of my Annea Lockwood album - this one from Five Lines in New Zealand by Elizabeth Kerr. I look forward to presenting Annea’s work at @counterflows.bsky.social and @musicintheround.bsky.social this spring! www.fivelines.nz/articles/ul6...

Also can you just take a moment to imagine with what glee I bought the domain www.multiphonics.app
SO MUCH GLEE
Ok the app is live. Have at it, clarinet multiphonic lovers. I'm dying to know what you think and how you'll use it!

Soft launch has gone so well. Just over 50 users now! Such a thrill. And yesterday someone posted a bit of feedback in the forum which was genuinely so helpful so I implemented everything this morning. I really want to go proper live now.
Ok, I think the app is done. I think I might hit go on the soft launch tomorrow. Might spend today adding some more contrabass multiphonics...
my violin chord composer's helper tool is more or less done if anyone else wants to try it out
One week left to apply to this PhD studentship! Fully funded, covers fees and stipend; UK home student applicants only (due to funder rules).
Realised I hadn't added an option to cancel your account in what I thought yesterday might be a Finished App. Oops. Obviously had that realisation at 5am.
The 2025 RPS Composers gather at the end of programme networking event. From left: Arthur Keegan, Emily Hazrati, Lisa Robertson, Derri Joseph Lewis, Amble Skuse, Sasha Scott, Zygmund de Somogyi, Cameron Biles-Liddell.

I am a debugging fiend!
Yes exactly...
I put a tool in my admin panel to check for duplicated fingerings and I found about 30 (oops - but there were 614 fingerings total so human error is likely), and it was SO satisfying to start tidying them all up. Urgent to do it too since my clarinetist beta tester has started work today 🥰
Yes!! Yay! Good luck with your crop
Wouldn't it be cool if suddenly there was just this huge proliferation of multiphonic-heavy clarinet music because the app just makes it so easy to be creative with them all?
Oh man I could die happy to think I helped bring that kind of joy into the world 🤣

Terrifying and relatable
Composers! I've made a clarinet multiphonic app with a ton of features I know you'll love. Been dreaming of doing this myself for 12 years and now it's real. I'm just in the testing phase now if you want early and discounted access sign up here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
#MusicIcon Michel Arrignon, co-founder of the Ensemble Intercontemporain and cherished clarinettist, has passed away at 76. A pioneer of modernism, he brought 20th-century masterpieces to life and was deeply inspired by his work with Pierre Boulez. #ClassicalMusic #Legacy
Thank you!
Thank you, dear Anita!
Since it was my birthday last week, I bought myself a present: a new contrabass clarinet mouthpiece from JD Woodwinds. 3D printed, and 1/3 of the price of other models. Arrived from the US in less than a week. And it plays like a dream. Agility + dynamic control are up 10x.
