Damas came to the U.S. from Haiti seeking asylum. After six months in ICE custody—the last four at CoreCivic's Florence Correctional Center—he died from complications from a tooth infection.

a supermajority of union members at law360, which is owned by the same parent company as lexisnexis, have signed a letter demanding the organization stop working with ice.
lexis is a major supplier of personal data to ice (and many other law enforcement agencies).
The Massachusetts Department of Correction has been fighting me for months, trying to withhold data about its collaboration with ICE.
Yesterday, I won that fight, and obtained records showing that the state has transferred more than 2,000 people into ICE custody since 2009.
