As an Albertan I’m so jealous!
As an Albertan I’m so jealous!
It’s funny. As a young person I was dead set against it. Now realizing the big gain is from tourists and a bit of a consumption tax I’m fine with it.
That’s not the super rich. That’s the moderately rich fleeing in rented planes. Super rich have their own plays.
Well when you put it THAT way.
We can and should be critical of the regime in Iran. We should also:
A) Remember the US interference that ultimately led to that regime.
B) Reject yet other bullshit US war.
C) Uphold international law and condemn illegal aggression.
D) Be very concerned for the civilians in harms way.
That’s so disgusting. We do have fairly free elections. Narratives like that only stoke distrust.
The White House said in June, and I quote, "Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated — and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News"
That post is still up:

Thanks for doing that! Every bit raised helps I’m sure.

There’s always a tweet. From 2013👇🏾
Or hear me out. You can just not buy it.
This report is probably unsurprising to Canadians with media literacy and internet access:
- 100 online users account for 68% of conspiratorial posts, capturing 90% of views and 86% of likes
- Twitter is the worst offender; it accounts for 70% of likes on conspiracy content
Markets go up though. Markets up=good, markets down=bad, at least when you yell out “Dow at 50 000”. Going to hurt a lot of folks quietly though.

Why the FUCK is the director of the FUCKING FBI using YOUR TAXES to FLY TO ITALY so he can party with pro hockey players?!? In WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE is this ok?!
Weekly reminder: there are no trade deals. There never were. There never will be. Just a series of dramatic and chaotic moments, shifting numbers and changing terms. This hellish turmoil.
When I step into Alberta classrooms and see immigrant and refugee children excited to learn, and teachers inspired to teach, I see my mother’s mischievous grin and feel her fierce curiosity. May Albertans never lose the compassion and common sense that makes public education a public good.
What smarter investment could Albertans make that to educate the children who live here? Why would we want to grow a permanent underclass of illiterate, innumerate youth? Our economy needs educated workers - not children cut off from hope.

Recently, UCP government advertised that “Alberta is open for business”, wanting to grow Alberta’s population to 10 million by 2030.
Now, influx on new Canadians is blamed for overcrowded hospitals, schools, and deficit.
In reality, mismanagement is the culprit, not immigrants.
The customer paid more, the market got less efficient, and everyone lived happily ever after. 🤡
Olympic athletes, some of whom are teenagers, are held to a higher level of expected maturity than the most powerful man in the world.
That article said boo about Trumps ways. Kinda crappy journalism.
Tesla doesn’t make money…. So it does seem fair. Having said that the tax code needs to change so that you cannot burrow against the shares you own to avoid paying tax like Musk and many other rich folks do.
Urgent: Kilee needs a temporary home in Edmonton (no other pets). She’s healthy, gentle, loves people, house-trained, and doesn’t bark or chew. This is short-term while her vulnerable owner with FASD secures housing. #yeg #yegpets
I would prefer that humans spend far, far, far less time and resources threatening each other needing to defend against those threats, but since we're still cavepeople in the brain and our previously closest ally is now a rogue state, this is what passes for good news in 2026.
