It's Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.

Thank you to all of the providers who put their safety and lives on the line to ensure we can get the care we need. You've helped me to build the life and family I have now, and there's no way to articulate the depth of my gratitude.

Upper 60s today, sun, and no freaking snow. I want to bathe in this weather forevvvvvver. ❤️

There are many annoying things about Timothee Chalamet's comments, but it's also a classic example of how throwing in "all respect to..." doesn't absolve you of whatever the heck you said before.

The problem with spring break is I always feel this immense pressure to try to cram in all the tasks that I have been neglecting. But I think I truly need today to just stare into space and recharge. Gonna do my best to not feel guilty about it.

The best little ladies.

When someone begins a sentence with “I asked Claude,” I literally have to expend all my energy arranging my face to not convey how much judgment I feel.

So when music folks in academia are eager to poop on classical music to seem cool and curry favor with their students, I find it kind of sad and pathetic. You are not transgressive, you're just doing capital's work for them

Lol I should have waited for your whole thread. Agreed 💯

It’s also depressing to me when classical music people do this to themselves in an attempt to try to seem hip or cool. Like…it’s ok to actually like classical music. It’s ok to be into niche things.

I guess the thing about currently niche art forms like classical music/opera/ballet/etc. is that you can punch up or punch down at them, and a lot of people who think they're punching up are actually punching down

A colleague at another school in the area brought in a brass quintet & invited our SU student composers to write for them since their school doesn’t have many composers. Inspired by and grateful for this generosity. Heading out there today with the students. 🎶

A sobering, very important read from Lydia Polgreen in the Times.

Hegseth needs to stand trial after this as a war criminal. Between this attack and the girls' school, there's no ambiguity. He is responsible for mass murder and must be held accountable.

Well everything is pretty bad, but at least spring break starts this afternoon. This one feels very very needed. 😵‍💫

The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iranian Naval Ship The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countries—including the United States.

This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

It always seemed likely that the U.S. was responsible, but somehow this makes it all the more real and gutting. What a shit country we are.

Had been on a kick of listening to PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake and might just continue doing so for no obvious reasons whatsoever…

Thank goodness for cats. This little crazy is one of the few things keeping me sane. ❤️

It’s days like today that I really have trouble not being angry at people who don’t understand the importance of pragmatic (rather than idealistic) voting.

Yup. I really get the sense that every person I know who is teaching somewhere is really struggling right now with all of this (and other aspects that are crippling higher ed). And it’s amazing how fast things have deteriorated. My job felt very different even six years ago.

It’s a disaster and my understanding is that it’s not just Indiana - the big beautiful bill has stuff about this that will affect federal support for arts programs nationally. My Dean just sent us all a note about it.

Alysa Liu telling 60 Minutes “I love struggling, it makes me feel alive” is a legit revolutionary statement from a Bay Area native in a time when copious amounts of time and resources are being put toward convincing us to opt out of experiencing struggle, friction and self-actualization

The Unstoppable Alysa Liu Watching a young woman be free was the joy I didn’t know I needed

I don't follow figure skating, so I couldn't figure out why I started sobbing while watching Alysa Liu's gold medal-winning performance.

Then it dawned on me: I was watching a young woman be free.

Watched Alysa Liu's free skate last night and it was chef's kiss. So cool to see someone achieve that level of freedom and joy. And you know she put in the work. You don't get to that state of ease without having rock solid technique and an insane work ethic.
