Agree. One was a slightly over aggressive attempt at a tackle. The other was just plain stupid. Like many others I did laugh at Norburn’s ridiculous antics at the time but he’s experienced enough to know better.

Exactly. The ref was all over the place. An experienced player like Norburn ought to see that and not give him the opportunity to award the second yellow. I’m not saying it was a second yellow but I am saying that the referee was within his rights to award it.
Grant all day long for me. Their Leicester loanee Braybrooke ran the game. Our Spurs loanee has been a huge disappointment today and lots of other games. We were spoilt with George Abbott.
The ref had already revealed himself to be trigger happy. Norburn was clearly intent on getting stuck into the little twat Dobra who wound him up a treat. Norburn provided the ref with his dismissal on a plate. Let the club down.
Agree.
Ref or Norburn? I’m going for the latter.
The red card didn’t help but against Chesterfield even with 11 I’m not confident. Norburn owes his teammates a grovelling apology. Once again we go into the last 10 games in poor form and with thin resources. Not looking forward to the inevitable play off games against the Spireites.
From the sound of it:
Palmer - close
Jatta - not yet
Robertson - could be out for a while.
I’m not as anti Grant as many others but you’re right. The 2 of them in midfield makes us very lightweight. George Abbott raised expectations to a level that Tyrese Hall falls well short of.
Shame that.
Back in season 2017-18 we had an honest, young, energetic midfielder on loan called Ryan Yates. It actually saddens me to see the player he’s become.
But they beat Brentford today so the same fans are now hailing him as a football genius.
Some of our West Bridgford chums beginning to suggest that maybe having ginger hair, a gravelly voice and a nice line in Cloughie anecdotes might not necessarily make you a good football coach.
Guessing Forest won’t be making a complaint to PGMOL this evening.
Nottingham Forest making a formal complaint to PGMOL regarding the officiating of referee Simon Hooper this afternoon, failing to penalise Aston Villa for winning all the tackles and headers, passing with accuracy, scoring 3 goals and generally being the better team. Blatant corruption.
Construction work on the southern spur of the Munto Monorail. A bit late and over budget but better late than never.
Looks like the GKs he had in training with us this week fell short of the standards set by Kelle Roos. It’s a high bar mind you.
Palmer out for ‘quite a period’. In Notts injury speak that could mean rest of the season.
‘Knock in training’ = 4-6 weeks
‘Niggle’ = 6-8 weeks
‘Troublesome strain’ = 8-10 weeks
‘Muscle pull’ = 10-12 weeks
‘Out for the foreseeable future’ = funeral at Wilford Hill next week.
Mid table beckons.
Dear fellow Notts fans?
If you think a change of keeper will transform us into a top 3 team, you’re wrong. It’s really not that simple. Don’t make Roos the fall guy.
Disagree. I thought Tsaroulla and Grant linked up well, particularly first half and gave their defenders plenty of problems. Nick to start over Maz all day long for me.
AJ, Robbo and Ness. Bit of a football cliche but successful teams need a strong central spine.
Ooh, go on.
Just give us a little taster.
Fun fact:
A young Dan Burn made a sub appearance for Darlington against Notts in our 5-0 win to secure the L2 title in April 2010.
A 30 year old Michael Doyle would fit the bill.
He’s got undoubted ability. I just question how much he wants to play for Notts, indeed sometimes I wonder whether he really wants to make it as a professional footballer.
In an act of extreme sado-masochism, watched it again. The only thing I’d add to earlier comments is that yes, we were poor but in the added 6 minutes, at 2-1 up the EFL team had enough of the ball to see the game out and failed to do so by repeatedly giving it away to our NL opponents.
Lots to concern us about that defeat but as the saying goes, ‘it all starts with the goalkeeper’ so basically until we secure a competent replacement, we’re screwed. Roos is awful, truly awful.
Came with the reputation of being a midfield ‘enforcer’ type. He really, really isn’t. Offers nothing.
Ness excellent.
Jatta good apart from the pen.
Macari, Bedeau ok.
Thats about it.
Got what they deserved, but according to their manager it was mainly down to their lord and saviour Jesus Christ so we were up against it from the start.
Goalkeeper remains the number 1 priority in January.
Agree. Keep him fit and I think we’ve got a L1 player there.
