And here it is! The video player and Quest update! Club now uses VideoTXL, and every private room has their own video player that can be enabled (otherwise the club video player plays in the rooms). Shoutout to @texel.bsky.social for helping with this one! Plus quest version overhaul!
Just to be on the safe side I'll look into this a bit deeper once I push the update, thanks for reporting it!
In most cases performance problems trace back to user avatars. Sometimes the world may have issues, but I checked the quest build recently and when alone in it I got a mostly consistent 72 fps (maximum for quest devices). The vrchat menu, when open, btw, cuts down the fps by 10!
Unfortunately that probably has nothing to do with the club it self, as the media player engines are basically a given on vrchat, it's either the unity player or AVPro (every player you see in vrchat uses these two), Penumbra has nothing that is specific to it in terms of media playback/render.
Glad you enjoy the place! And yes there are definitely plans to bring the quest version up to date. Optimization is always an important aspect, although not always an easy feat, and pretty much always a compromise.
Hey all! Good news! Another major update is in the works for the club, don't want to spoil it, but it involves replacing UdonSharpVideo with VideoTXL, allowing for a lot more flexibility! Stay tuned!
Further changes:
- New dancefloor shader (thank you @zebra-north.com !)
- Improved several meshes
- Improved UV mapping, especially for lightmaps
- Improved UI visuals (replaced all text with TMP)

Update time!
I've overhauled the user theme loader system, so that now it should work properly with group instances! The lasers are once again on by default, and a livestream is the default media on the player, because of ongoing YT issues.

After some discussion, we've created a form to allow anyone to submit art for events organised by the Club it self (art used for themeing the event, which includes use in the club it self or for promotional materials, such as flyers, etc)
