In 1982(?) Game vs Chelsea, Denis Law was summarising for the telly. He climbed down the ladder from the tv gantry in the Ford Stand to find me waiting for an autograph. He signed, smiled and said "its fucking parky". RIP. #oafc

The next great flood shall be wrought by the tears of billionaires finally paying their fair share.
So he's not in Kansas anymore?
Yesterday was an enjoyable day with a disappointing result. We missed Stones and Clucas and we missed too many opportunities. That said, what a magnificent effort by the players. They had the better of the game, especially in the first half, & the worst of the referee. We will win the league. #oafc
Saturday sorted... #oafc
I knew there'd be a problem when I saw that the ref was Ben Tweatherman.
It is wrong to call off a game because the ref is scared to get his socks muddy. Get some 3 inch studs on and gerron wi' it! #oafc
Pressure on the ref from one of the teams? Not got the bottle to say "get it on"? Maybe hoping the amount of hot air this delayed decision causes will dry the pitch...
It's clear that privatisation only works for those raking in the profits. The fact that they also control the narrative is depressing.
DAZN set up? β οΈ Latics Shirt washed and ready? β οΈ slightly out of date yellow ticket 'pizza botulinum' set for the oven? β οΈ flat capio ironed? β οΈ cider purchased? Escape? I'm having a whal.... No. I won't go there.
I think a hard fought win. 0-2. However, I do speak from within a large whale.
I'm sorry to hear of the death of John Prescott. At a time when politicians seemed to become less 'real', he was somebody to whom many could relate. He felt hugely important to the many domestic successes of the 1997-2010 Labour government. A counter weight with a counter punch. RIP.
This is great news. Letβs do the water industry next

The truth about IHT and farms.
All the evidence shows importance of greater access to nature, so cuts to Englandβs national parks are short-sighted & self-defeating. Instead Govt should reform them, give them a strong nature recovery focus & recognise their contribution to health & wellbeing www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Probably the biggest march in London this year was the Restore Nature Now March - despite the numbers, the uniting of @nationaltrust.bsky.social AND @xrglobal.bsky.social, it was of considerably less interest than to the media than farmers, so here are some photographs
On Monday we learnt that 1 in 3 children are living in povertyβ¦

Whereβs Jeremy Clarkson, Nigel Farage and Andrew Lloyd Webber to fight their corner?
β¦anywhere?
Constant whining from the wealthy who set their satnav to take them down every tax avoidance avenue possible frustrates me intensely. I don't even set mine to avoid toll roads. Clarkson can't even be bothered to defend his position, which is veering right across the double white lines. Keep left!
A message from a REAL farmer who hasnβt been brainwashed by the Tories, wealthy landowners and the right wing mediaππ½
#FarmersProtest
Leaving behind the familiar gets harder as time moves on. New tunes are good for old fiddles.
The protestors want to call it "the tractor tax" because calling it "the inheritance tax protest" would turn off public opinion.
The tractors coming into London today, in fact, pay no road tax, no congestion charge, and no ULEZ.
Exempt from all.
This owl looks like it has suffered 30+ years of failure. #oafc

Me for Byline Times.
I'm rather hoping that gin is the cure for Norovirus. I'm confident.
I have little sympathy for farmers marching against IHT. It doesn't greatly impact the majority of farms & sensible financial & succession planning mitigates damage for those who are affected. The fact that many of these farming turkeys voted for Christmas doesn't endear me to them either.
This winter scene depicts a snowy garden transformed into a wildlife haven. A snow-laden tree with a nestbox and a Blue Tit perched nearby illustrates the importance of providing shelter. Hanging nearby is a suet feeder to provide an energy boost in cold conditions. On the right, a bare branch with bright red berries highlights how fruit-bearing shrubs and trees offer a natural winter feast. Below, a pile of logs and leaves, emphasises how leaving these natural elements provide essential cosy hiding spots for small mammals. To the left, a bird drinks from a shallow dish of water kept ice-free and topped up, ensuring a vital source of hydration. Finally, a blackbird is shown foraging on a patch cleared of snow, demonstrating how such efforts can help birds find food during harsh conditions.
Brrr! With temperatures plunging, here's how we can help wildlife weather the cold. βοΈ
