I think that all the skiers need a good hot tub and sauna after the race. 🙏

Update: 60000 skiers was registered to Vasaloppet but only 13000 has started today. And many of them still on the track. Just now 17 tourist busses has picked up those who have broken the race. For now 8 h later has 4300 crossed the finish line.

Ok, I have no idea about prices in Germany but in Sweden the prices are higher on atractive places near lakes.
Moving around is good, you can see and learn things with that. Hometown is always home even you dont live there. Saxony is that called Sachsen in German?

Yes this is a big thing gere in Sweden. Many international skiers race too. Half way now 45km and time about 2h 20min.

They consume a lot of blueberry soup, juice, coffee, tea, and cinnamon buns there.

90km cross country skiing from Sälen to Mora. Weather: +/- 0 degrees celcius and it is snowing.
Vasaloppet 2026, Over 60,000 skiers have registered for this year's Vasaloppet, but it is not known how many made it to the start line. Crowded at the start.

Oh, I thought you had lived there for a long time. So you came back to your roots. It's not easy to find a place to live near a lake or the sea. If you do find one, it's usually expensive. Before I moved, I lived near a lake and could see it from my window. 10 min to the lake, big lake Mälaren.

It might be cold here too. It's still winter. Weather can change fast... april is always very strange. One day sunny and nice and next day it is snowing. Spring will come when it's right time. Be patient 🙄
