Sadly the only one that I think actually doesn’t stand a shot is Ethan Hawke, who IMO gives the best performance. But that’s more on his film being so niche than his performance. The rest are in powerful Best Picture nominees that WILL result in a win between the 4.
My biggest thought bubble about Best Actor this year is that so many people are confident it’s MBJ, or it’s just MBJ v Timmy, when actually I think the vote tallies are probably so even and so close between like 4 of the 5 nominees that anything realistically could squeak out in the end, even Leo.

Caught up with one of my very last Oscar nominees to watch KOKUHO tonight.
Of all its mesmerizing crafts (cinematography, COSTUMES, production design), is it a hot take that I actually found it’s nominated-Makeup work to be the least impressive element by a mile?

Happy to have had an Oscar year where I love any outcome that occurs, but every time “Sixteen years later, the world has changed very little.” *smash to Dirty Work* hits, I can’t help it. Don’t care if it’s been the default opinion all season. That’s Best Picture right there.
It seems both wrong to bet against at this point and wrong to go all in on. I still think it’s Taylor because the OBAA love seems so overwhelming and Perfidia feels like a “winning role” but Mosaku winning a huge industry award in a film that won SAG Ensemble has me so tempted to switch.
