Yeah - it's an iFrame CODEC vs. something that uses sub-pixel motion predition and psudo diff frames with previous frame referencing. It's a mirical it only takes 537 minutes :-P (it's a pity the realtime 265 encoders arn't that good).
Banger!
This looks great - can you export to something like DMF or VGM format so you can compile ROMs?
Interrupt Festival is this weekend! I'm so excited (here's part of my opening tune). If you are in Melbourne, you have to come down to this - it's a once-in-5-years-event that has the best pocket music composers visiting from all edges of planet earth. Great vibes, all original music.
Yup! I'm going to release it all when I've finished part two of the Atari video
Hahaha.... yep I know... I've got half a timeline filled with content. Then the Atari died, the timelock unit is whack, the DX7 refer cap caught fire and 4-track tape deck randomally seized up. So I'm just fixing all that stuff (slowly) so I can pick back up! Thanks for caring / inspiring me! Soon
I reakon I'll get around to releasing it at some point :-) But not at the mo. You can grab it over at Weekly Beats (an earlier master anyway!)
Getting back to funky days with a CP80 vs VDrum (played live) session. I'm always blown away that I can just take all the techniques I learnt in analogue studios and apply them in this odd hybrid DAW space! Old habbits: if I need to scroll vertically there's too many tracks! EQs all in a rack :-P
Back with the Weekly Beats for 2026! weeklybeats.com//ctrix/music... :-) First one, live drums (me) vs. the M8. Fun times... it starts of simple, but quickly unravels into some jazzy chaos!
Jinx! Same scope I've got :-) Nice solution.
Syntax is streaming! Intro + C64 show soon www.twitch.tv/cTrix64
At least it's still a functioning board - but I get ya. So much energy goes into a PCB and it's always something small. I labeled audio inputs and outputs back to front on a board once! (Only made 5 but I still shake my head when I see it!)
When my Yamaha disk orchestra module is on for more than 10 mins, it suddenly says "I'm sleepy!" the goes into standby mode. So cute π₯°
Actually.... that's more like midday in the USA. Ooops. THE PLANET IS BIG AND CONFUSING!
Tonight! Dropping some cheeky tunes in Melbourne at The Vinyard in St Kilda 10pm. Then dropping a stream from 2am AU time (UK afternoon, US late afternoon) :-)
RIP Seiki Kato san; head of Korg prod planning in late 80s. He inspired the engineers to push the M1 to its limits even tho it seemed cost prohibitive; worked overtime with the sound designers; and just as he predicted, ROM prices fell just in time. For a while, Korg wore the multi-timbral crown!
Here's something for you to Zone out to. A while back we built a 12 x 16 lighting grid from addressable DMX poles and 0F.D and TommityTom made a timed MIDI / DMX show. Tommitytom coded up an arduino driver board and full pre-viz platform to test it on. Cheers for the vid datagoth!)
Live stream from MCA rite now!! Twitch.tv/melbchiptune
Unless you ordered something else by.... mis-steak. Ayyyyyyy (ps. miss ya!)
The percussion on this is absolutely wild. Sample gold I tell ya! I vaguely remember buying this years ago after quite a few drinks in Tokyo (inevitably ended up in a record store!) Somehow got slid in the trance section of my collection. It's always awesome to rediscover a random record!
Classic! I had a similar version, Cakewalk Home Studio. Limited to 4 audio tracks which took ages to buffer on play. Came with an AWE32 "musicians pack" w 2MB mem and EMU GS; terrible for techno! As soon as I could afford it I bought a Groovebox+ST224 (also to perform live) Never ran CW again :-o
Woooo! Midinize comp arrived :-D I've got a tune called "Tinkles" on it. (NTSC Megadrive FM track). www.3cm.jp/midinize4/
It's often the way programming an FM synth works!
Ping. Sounds like a fun show!
The battle to contain the FM bass when you let it get outta control!
Mood : Orange. Jams on the M8 for up and coming show down at the Catfish on the 8th Feb
Anyone up for a DIY flight sim livestream tonight?! Now with twin engine mode. I'll be dropping a few new tunes in the background too. :-P 8:30pm AEDT www.twitch.tv/ctrix64
