Some things Iβm very proud of from my group in no particular order: three selected talks! We work so hard on communicating our science clearly and effectively that I am especially proud of this
Hey all, I reached out to the PO of my NIGMS MIRA to ask if the gov't shut down, and rescheduling of study sections, might allow for some accommodation to the standard rule that PIs cannot resubmit a MIRA while their MIRA (or other RPG) is under review (waiting in scores or summary statements) π§ͺ

New work led by Madison Bandini out in @pnas.org using live cell imaging to show how HIV targets the cell cycle to double viral genomes and increase transcription. Awesome collaboration with cell cycle heroes in Suzuki lab @mcardlelab.bsky.social @uwmadison.bsky.social. www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...
My talk from the latest RNA Collaborative Seminar Series is now available on YouTube. The second talk in the session was given by Rachel Braun (Sara Cherryβs lab) on TTP and its role in regulating antiviral immunity. youtu.be/2Aj-xbi3dPI #RNAsky #RNAbiology

Announcing the 2026 edition of the EMBO workshop on RNA localization and local translation! This meeting will be held June 30 - July 4 near Porto, Portugal. Come for exciting updates in the field from both established investigators and trainees. See the link below for details!
Anyone at Harvard need a super well-trained undergrad next semester? Cell culture, molecular bio, microscopy and data analysis. Very careful and rigorous. Good lab citizen. Ready to jump in and learn/get some data! Has light course load, so plenty of time for research! Let me know of any leads!

Dang, hard disagree. The best papers to write and read are works of art, not merely a list of data and statements.
Donβt let LLMs take this away too, for gods sake.
Latest from the lab! Analysis of everyoneβs favorite regulatory mechanism in bacteria β the RF2 programmed frameshift! Likely present in the ancestor of bacteria, use of this mechanism is influenced by stop codon usage! Big congrats to @cassidyprints.bsky.social

What is in the Glenclairn!?
Tonight I celebrated the week with a Manhattan. My favorite recipe lately has been:
4 oz. whiskey (tonight was Barrell Bourbon batch 36)
1 oz. of Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth (no subs)
4 dashes of Angostura
2 dashes of plum bitters
2 dashes of peach bitters
Great lab, great mentor and I love UNC Biology!
The Johri Lab has an open postdoc position. Please send me an email, if interested. Start date is flexible. Please do share! Thank you in advance.
We have a new preprint for you. Naked mole rats are very long-lived rodents and have increased translational fidelity.
Interestingly, 28S ribosomal RNA is split. Here we investigated the structure of the ribosome by single particle cryo-EM. Take a look.
