Late Saturday Apr 12 to early Sunday Apr 13 the Sun has unleashed 2 filament eruptions, south-east and south-west of the central meridian. The resulting #solarstorms are due to arrive at Earth late Tuesday Apr 15, but they are slow and we do not expect a strong geomagnetic response.

An expanded view of yesterday’s impressive #SolarFlare and coronal mass ejection. The video shows timelapses of data from SDO, SUVI, and SOHO respectively, each revealing mesmerising views of different plasma physics processes! An impressive event. #spaceweather

Presented the studies that me and my PhD student Harry Lewis have been doing assessing the specific plasma physical processes responsible for dissipating turbulent energy in collisionless plasmas yesterday at #AGU24!

Lots of fantastic discussions with everyone afterward!

A coronal mass ejection encountered by four spacecraft within 1 au from the Sun: ensemble modelling of propagation and magnetic structure ABSTRACT. Understanding and predicting the structure and evolution of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in the heliosphere remains one of the most sought-after

Kicking off this Bluesky thing with a fresh new paper! We analysed and modelled a CME that impacted four spacecraft spread out between ~0.4 and 1 au from the Sunβ€”we investigated radial evolution and whether measurements at an inner probe improve predictions at an outer one: doi.org/10.1093/mnra...
