so far I'd say I enjoyed Bose > Rolent > Zeiss > Ruan in that order. Ruan is aesthetically very pleasing but the story gets really, really dull. Zeiss's story is interesting but I'm really disappointed with how it looks in the remake. it's just... uglier. Gray everywhere and it feels unpolished

also, in the remake the play scene is unironically a 25 minute long cutscene and is honestly really uninteresting. At least in the original, you can read at your own pace. it's cute, but not compelling enough to be the length of an anime episode.

it gets better, though! I really like Agate :)

I finally hit the last chapter in Trails 1st and I'm pretty invested now! i have to say, though, the game has a real pacing issue around the middle when you're in Ruan. it's enough to have made me drop te first one and I had to force myself at some parts of the story to really care.
