My 11 year old is in basketball season now, baseball soon (and spring soccer). It’s so cool how quickly they progress from bunch ball to skills and learning positions. 3 years and it’s a new game.
I also think it sort of glosses over the idea of sensory issues. I think if I was a child today, I’d be recognized as sensory/OCD. My parents generation famously cooked a lot of over-boiled veggies which is a texture I still can’t stand. Picky or sensory? I don’t think it’s so easy to dismiss

I was at a life science construction conference yesterday and one of the GC companies was telling me how they have a whole vertical dedicated to places of worship because the LDS church spends so much money with them to build temples.
They could have been really scoldy about alcoholism and shown the horrors of cirrhosis (more than ascites) and made him bleed out from esophageal varices, but they humanized him really well in life and death. Maybe she means the pregnant teen was a parasite. Or the brain dead organ donor teen. 🤷♀️
