Found object art featuring a fiddlehead fern as a squirrel tail. In text: two short poems. One is "The Squirrel" by Debbie Ridpath Ohi and the other is "The Debbie" by Ame Dyckman.

THE SQUIRREL: He may look cute and innocent of crime, but I know the truth...he's just biding his time.

THE DEBBIE, by Squirre: I'd profess my love if I were able...instead, I ate her Internet cable. But at least I have Debbie's attention! (See? She's screaming in my direction.)

Here's a poem I wrote to go with some of my #FoundObjectArt. I was highly amused when my friend @amedyckman.bsky.social came back with a reply poem. ๐Ÿ˜‚ We have differing opinions about SQUIRRELS, as you can see.

I was an artist before I became a writer. I love animals, the environment, equity and social awareness, libraries, bookstores, gardens, feed stores, hardware stores and backwater diners where the locals hang out.

Florida anole shedding its skin.

Hello Bluesky. This is my first day in your world, and I'm here because @debbieohi.com's posts convinced me this was the place for a MG/YA writer who's trying to find an alternate to X.

I've never heard of wool pellets, so I'm fascinated to see the results.

Question of the day from today's school visit, after I'd shared a paragraph from one of my editorial letters with 4th graders:

"If your editor wants the book to be so perfect, why doesn't she just write it herself?"
