Will be announcing a new serialized project soon on Royal Road!
LitRPG w/ body swapping, gender fluidity, & lots of monster fightinβ (also monster smoochinβ between all those fights)
Thanks to @igorgrouper.bsky.social for the incredible cover(s) and @paultobin.bsky.social for showing me the ropes!
Was there ever an Italian ero-fumetti "Magnum PI" rip-off series? Yes there was. It was called 44 Magnum, and here's the complete NSFW gallery.

For me, it was worded as being a "paid speaking event", which, you know, I've done before! I have been paid to speak!
I accidentally lead a book club scammer on a merry chase this week by misreading in their email that they were paying $150 to speak for 40 minutes with readers in Berlin. Actually they were asking ME to pay for... admin, I guess? Like no, son. If I'mma get up early to zoom Germany I'mma get paid.
Well shit that's the most complementary thing I've heard today.
My dear husband has introduced me to the cultural treasure that is the official video for Orville Peck's "Daytona Sand".
I kind of hate the phrase "I'm obsessed", but I'm damned if it doesn't apply. Every shot in just over three minutes is a jewel.

Dylan Meconis (in purple with glasses) talking to Emmett & Gordon Graham, Emilie Kelly, Claire Scott, & Matthew Bogart.
A mentorship day at Helioscope. Dylan Meconis @dylanmeconis.bsky.social is sharing her expertise about working with traditional publishing. Jeff Parker is giving storytelling feedback to a couple of young artists who have been studying with @jasonmcnamara.bsky.social!
Yet another Howard the Duck inking video on the Helioscope YouTube channel! Howard as Sorcerer Supreme, as seen (again) in my old copy of Marvel Treasury Edition #12.
How many Howard drawings is too many? I'll let you know when I find out.

Heck yeah! New chapter is up! It's Chapter 30: "Level Up!" I've long wanted to do serial fiction, like in some of the old-timey pulps, and it's fun to write LitRPG in that fashion. Fun to read, too, incidentally.

Shoot maybe I'll run into Val again someday and ask! He lives in the PNW and came by the studio once years ago but I don't think he does any comics stuff anymore--his rodeo paintings are top notch!

Oh shoot, it's Gorko, not Garko.
Yes, young readers, there was a comic called "Giant Size Man-Thing" in the 1970s.
Yes, we did notice.
Another time lapse of me drawing Howard the Duck. This is his iconic battle vs Garko the Man Frog from Giant Size Man-Thing #4 in 1975, then reprinted in Marvel Treasury Edition #12 in 1976, which I owned and re-read obsessively for years.

I think it was a common disco/fantasy trope in the 70s comics. See: Dazzler.
I obsessively horde Colleen's art so you don't get many chances to pick pieces up.
Wooop! My Howard The Duck and Beverly Switzler illustration is now available for sale on my Etsy page!
(Also, other art is for sale there. I invite you to check it out.)

Way to put me on blast! Untrue!
I said you looked normal, for a day when you felt awful.
Meanwhile, the Howard piece in the video below is now for sale on the HelioscopePDX Etsy store!

I did another Howard the Duck inking video for the Helioscope channel! This scene is from Howard the Duck comic #1. I read it as a kid 1000 times over, reprinted in Marvel Treasury Edition #12. The first meeting between Howard and his human girlfriend Beverly Switzler.

I enjoyed the halftime show, particularly the dancing (I did not have two dudes grinding next to a pickup on my bingo card! A++), the Ricky Martin cameo, & the callout to the nations of the Americas. Thanks to the below thread for cultural/Benito context that went over my non-Spanish-speaking head!
Just now added Chapter 20 of NEXT DOOR DUNGEON to Royal Road. Yep, you can wander / skip / amble on over there by clinking the link and then delve into some good ol' adventuring... for free!

Heckin' YEAH! It's today's new chapter of NEXT DOOR DUNGEON, a story you can read for free on Royal Road. I'd even appreciate it! Especially if you leave reviews, follows, advanced dungeoneering tips, etc!

Yeah, I saw a tutorial on it but I didn't know the pattern name. I think I've seen it called disappearing HSTs? It's so deceptively easy, and wastes hardly any fabric!
her sweet blep!
The school of YouTube is a fantastic resourse for inspiration!
Me too! I quilted the columns separately and used the sashing to connect them. I never would have been able to wrangle it though my Singer otherwise. It turned out fine, but I'd like to try different methods of quilt as you go!
Here's my new quilt, now washed and spread out ! It's about 82 inches square (a little over two meters). All the fabrics were second hand, either from thrift shops or from ScrapPDX, my local craft resale shop. The "batting" is a couple of old flannel sheets, also thrifted.
