Yay, Carolina!! π§ π©βπ¬
Very proud of my stand-out psychiatry resident, Dr. Jean Wu, who has done such great advocacy work for eating disorders education with the APA and beyond! Check her out here: www.apaf.org/media-events...
And, proud mentor moment, this is my mentee, Brooke Moorman's first-ever publication! She worked hard on drafting sections on sleep and physical activity. Yay, Brooke!
Check out our new article on what we have learned about adolescent mental health from the ABCD study thus far! (Shout out to Arielle Baskin-Sommers for spearheading this paper!)

I'm prioritizing applicants who can stay in the position for at least 2 years and start by early summer 2026. We will begin interviewing in early February! Please help us spread the word!
Plus experience with the foundational elements of human subjects research, like research ethics, experience with regulatory compliance (IRB), and participant recruitment and retention, which are so important to learn for independent research.
The CRC will gain experience interacting with AYAs with eating disorders, as well as hands-on experience with cognitive neuroscience methods (fMRI, neurocognitive tasks), clinical interviews (EPSI-CRV), and ambulatory assessments (EMA, neurocog tasks).
My lab is running 2 studies in the space of developmental computational psychiatry & eating disorders. One examines the neurocognitive underpinnings of risky decision-making and their links to real-world symptoms in AYAs, and the other examines the development of exploration in AYAs.
π£ Please help me in spreading the word that my lab is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator to work on projects investigating the mechanisms of eating pathology in adolescents and young adults (AYAs)! Priority review will begin Friday, 1/30. vcujobs.com/jobs/clinica...
I'll be reviewing computational/cognitive and clinical psychology applications this year for the Translational Lab at Emory ππ¬
Please share broadly and send applicants my way! π

Sharing and advancing science has never been more important. With that said, I'm pleased to share our new @acamh.bsky.social JCPP Annual Research Review on the neural mechanisms of pediatric eating disorders: acamh.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
Eating disorders are among the deadliest mental health conditions & they often become chronic.
Yet Trumpβs HHS is cutting eating disorder research & the MAHA report doesnβt mention them.
This isnβt just suppressing science - itβs a decision that will cost lives.

Thank you for having me, @acamh.bsky.social! It was a pleasure to talk about one of my favorite topics β the nosology of eating pathology π€ π π
I have confirmation from several sources now that all T32s, many F30s and F31s, and most or all Center awards (P30, P50) have been terminated at Columbia.
This is quite damaging to research and to individuals.
This is pure terrorism and cannot be legal. But litigation will take time...
Congratulations Adanya! Weβre all so proud of you!
π¨π’πOur fantastic current coordinator, @ryleelusich.bsky.social is off to grad school (CONGRATS!), so we are hiring! I'm biased, but this is the most exciting project I've gotten to work on, and we get to do it with @cherilev.bsky.social. Please apply &/or share! www.auemployment.com/postings/51502

Please spread the word! We will likely be interviewing candidates in early-mid March 2025!
Some other notes: VCU is in Richmond, VA, which is a fun and diverse city! I love living here. The position is in-person, though some work may be completed at home. Also, we are in the VCU Department of Psychiatry and my lab is very interdisciplinary, which I love!
There will be opportunities for professional development (graduate school applications, NSF applications + grant writing, authorship opportunities, conference submissions) and mentorship. This is an excellent opportunity for those desiring research experience before graduate or medical school.
The position will also provide training in the fundamentals of human subjects research, like research ethics, experience with regulatory compliance (IRB), and participant recruitment and retention, which are so important to learn for independent research.
The coordinator will gain experience interacting with individuals with eating disorders, as well as hands-on experience with cognitive neuroscience methods (fMRI, neurocognitive tasks, computational modeling), clinical interviews (e.g., EPSI-CRV), and ambulatory assessments (EMA, neurocog tasks).
π£π€©π Some good news: I'm hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator to begin in my lab (the TREAT Lab) this summer (ideally in June 2025) to work on projects investigating the neurobiological and psychosocial mechanisms of eating pathology in young people! vcu.csod.com/ux/ats/caree...
