Look Within, painted last year for @fabtcg.com's Compendium of Rathe. Kind of out of my comfort zone, being such a calm and subtle scene, but it was fun to explore different options for this one, especially since I didn't quite know what direction would work best here.

Last year, my partner and I were asked to create one illustration each to be used for promotional material (posters, t-shirts, banners) at KamCon, a tabletop/RPG (and fantasy, sci-fi, fandoms, etc.) yearly convention in Kamloops. The theme was kind of a retro sci-fi adventure, and this was my take.

Chronos is seen as a large and strong and slightly balding old man with grey, long beard and hair, large dark wings, and wearing a loose white robe. From his belt hangs an hourglass. In his right hand, he holds a black scythe, which blade seems to be shattering and flowing, and under his left hand he's spinning a golden zodiac wheel. Behind him, an abstract dark space is interrupted by a blue rift, while rubble and ruins float about.

This is the final card I got to paint for Time Rift by @triviumstudios.bsky.social. Painting Chronos was such a fun idea, especially considering how much I've always liked and have been inspired by Greek mythology, and the art that's been inspired by it as well.
