Man, the American government sucks. Just pure dogshit on the bottom of everyone’s shoes.
That’s the post.
Was at the gas station. 1.80/liter. The gas jockey was speaking with a driver nearby and said, “we haven’t hit the big jump yet.” Prepare to be priced out of driving.
What is wrong with these people? Go down to any shoe store and get a replacement for 50 bucks. You’ve made a billion off insider trading this year. you can afford it.
I swear, America is champing at the bit to make this nuclear.
i would say they want the excuse. wartime acts to keep cheeto in office.
The face of the movie character: Atanarjuat. He seems to be almost smiling.
Watching Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner for the first time.
Saw a post the other day where someone said it was garbage. I'm going to find that guy and get into a face-slapping contest with him.
I mean, what a piece of cinema.
Well, we know what style Smallwood was copping for his Human Target book.
Is this factually correct, or just a setup and punchline?
in case you've never seen it, this is Roger Ebert on The Mummy
Honestly, we were talking about genre-spanning novels and I was so happy. I typically write in multiple genres, but always in horror. I just have to find the audience that will follow me into multiple genres.
I’m taking a class about vampire lit and cinema. Last night we were talking about Perfume, and the fact that it encompasses multiple genres—and that’s what makes it fascinating.
Sinners is similar. It doesn’t sit in one genre firmly, but it is a horror/vampire film. That genre is a broad.
Y'all remember Bong Joon-ho's quote about how if you overcome the one-inch barrier of subtitles you can find so many more amazing films?
Do that with horror. You don't have to like everything but I promise we've got stuff for you if you just get over the barrier of genre.

I’m going to buy a pitchfork. Seems like a life choice.
Collaborated with @andrewcull.bsky.social on a little cryptid story in this, and helped select the stories! There are some incredible monster gems in here, let me tell you.
That's a long movie for a first awkward date.

Oh yeah, and Clive Barker with Hellraiser.
Found this list. I forgot that Crichton did the Jurassic Park adaptation.
Was watching Interview the the Vampire (Brad/Tom version) and noticed that Anne Rice wrote the screenplay.
Any movies you enjoy where the author of the novel wrote the screenplay?
Here's one of my more recent paintings: 'She Was Always Asleep At School', oil on canvas panel, 40x50cm framed. A painting inspired by a girl in primary school who was always asleep due to unknown home troubles. Elements homage Dorothea Tanning.

Huh, using tariffs in order to developing countries to foster a strong and varied market.
I would love to hear what an economist has to say about this being the American hustle for the last year-and-a-half.
Writing a short screenplay. I've forgotten so much since I was doing this fulltime a couple years ago.
The wheels fell off the bike.
so my challenge to buckaroo readers who share constant news about dying creative industries, who repost stories about AI harming the arts, who lament the loss of genuine human creativity, JUST TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO ACTUALLY PREORDER SOMETHING FROM A HUMAN ARTIST THAT YOU LIKE
"There are persistent racial disparities. Black and Indigenous people comprise around 8.7% of the population but account for 27.2% of police-involved shooting deaths."
40 plus deaths of Indigenous involving police in the last 3 years. We really need an overhaul of a system that's killing our people in these numbers.
