This was accomplished entirely using a fine-tip pen and pointillism, giving it a striking appearance and bold texture.

Heck yeah, I've finally finished it!
Each side features a copy of 1400s medieval marginalia, or sketches from the margins of manuscripts. The inside is painted in a woodland scene, as our Barony is mountainous and heavily forested.

Yes, this shirt probably should have been thrown out. The fabric itself is practically disolving. But it was good practice for both patching and decorative stitching. The patches are tshirt scraps; I strive to throw out as little fabric as possible.

I've got the background done on my little side project, and I gave most of the base colors their bright, final coat.
I still need to do highlights, shadows, and the final outlining.
Playing with shape and color like this has been a bit of fun during a trying time, and I'm grateful for it.
A potted davallia fejeensis, or rabbit's foot fern, is backlit by the setting sunshine, its airy, delicate fronts nearly translucent in the glowing golden light. Behind it, on the left, a window opens up on a blue sky, crossed by two power lines. On the right, a curtain, knotted in half, frames the window; the wall spanning to the right edge is grey with deep shadow. The fern sits on a blonde wood table. Around it to the front and right are several metal and artists tools, and to the left is a white drinking tumbler with a metal straw.
Airing out the studio, as it's 65°f today. It's warm for the time of year, though that's not unsurprising. We'll all look back on these unseasonably warm days and laugh and laugh. But today the weather is balmy and the sunset is beautiful.

I can't get this off my mind, no matter what I try.
I will die without these meds. Without this research. Without this medical treatment.
I cannot express how real the threat is to real people. People you know. People you'd never guess needed the treatment.
Thanks to new breakthroughs in the science surrounding Autism (&etc) I'm finally able to function, yes, but also socialize and create with some consistency.
I'm a participating member of society on drugs. The same drugs that Sec of Health wants to "investigate."
Autism, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, these things are often comorbid. That is, they go together. I'm bipolar II with anxiety and ADHD--autism diagnosis pending.
After 30 years of intense struggle, a combination of new drugs is allowing me to not only function, but live.
So relaxed. Unbothered. Flourishing. To be a housecat in such times!
Our health secretary is talking about the dangers of my meds, and rounding me and others like me up to live on farms, med free, until "recovery."
Y'all, I will die. We will die.

I thought this would take two or three days and I'm on week 3. One would think at my age I'd be a better judge of these things. Alas.
I'm not disassociating, I'm "exploring new creative outlets."
Anyway the side project's finally starting to take on some depth. I'm still adjusting the background, and then I'll go on to shade the marginalia.
Pursuing joy in the face of troubles is an act of resistance.
I played with a bit of shading today. Technically, I oughtn't do any shading till the background is completely done. But I've been most unorthodox in my order of operations so far, why should I do things correctly now? 😂
This would have been so much faster if I'd laid down the background first. But, we live and we learn!
I'll finish up the background tomorrow--I need new paint to finish it, and today, after all, is a general boycott--and then I'll start on the shading.
