This looks like a “Trametes Versicolor”. You can look it up to verify as I can’t tell for sure due to photo quality. If so, it has been extensively studied and shown to have anti-cancer properties.

From 10 ft away, this Red-shouldered Hawk sat for 20 minutes while posing for a portrait. Widespread, I've found them on the coast of California through north and central Mexico.

Rufous are fairly rare on the west coast. We have migrating Allen's, while most Anna's seem to stick around all year. It's always great to be in the southwest!

Birds Without Borders, this Rufous Hummingbird was found in the desert of SW New Mexico, maybe fueling up for a long migration taking her into some of at least 9 different countries, from Canada to South America.
