Worried about false allegations spread by foreign adversaries? The RESONANT project examines disinformation efforts of foreign entities and studies the efficiency of the countermeasures in place to push back on those.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) starts today. A great opportunity to check out the MSC’s report “Under Destruction”, which, among other things, addresses Russia’s “military and hybrid aggression” in Chapter 2 by Nicole Koenig.

According to High Representative Kaja Kallas, EU foreign ministers have agreed to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. RESONANT acknowledges that one of the most nefarious actors in the foreign influence landscape has now been declared a terrorist organization.

William Dixon and Maksym Beznosiuk have published a very interesting piece on Russian-Chinese coordination on FIMI. They identify three domains of convergence (Cyber, Space, AI) as well as Russian-Sino narrative convergence on Ukraine and conclude with recommendations for Europe’s response.

On 6 January 2026 the UK Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on “FIMI”. The hearing included testimonies from Stephen Doughty MP and Jonny Hall CMG OBE. The RESONANT project commends the decision-makers who put the FIMI item on the UK Parliament’s agenda.

Increasing technical possibilities accompanied by decreasing individual effort makes the main use of #FIMI via #images and #videos worrying. 🎦 Think of the #AI-based imitation of voices; just last week, OpenAI launched a new AI tool for the imitation of #human #voice. 🎤
