Disabled rights and accessibility were not simply bestowed upon disabled people.
These rights came as the result of sit-ins where disabled people sacrificed their comfort and medical needs, years of activism, and disabled people literally crawling up the steps to the Capitol Building in 1990.

Two pairs of beavers released in Cornwall by wildlife trust
Wildlife experts say the release is a "landmark" for nature recovering in Cornwall and nationally.
Enjoy a full minute of beavers being released into the wild in Cornwall. These little fluffbutts are the first to swim in these waters in a very, very long time - the last official records of beavers in the wild in England are from the 1300s. BBC buff.ly/BnMwCOx

btw about that pixar thing, the reason why these people think having a conversation about gay people with kids is difficult is because they don't know a way to say to their kid "gay people are normal but you are not allowed to be one" without sounding like a bigot (there is a reason for that)

Maaaybe time to lock myself out of socials and go eat a food, drink a water, try to remember how to keep going.

I'm about 13 hours into the Prairie Fires audiobook and I am so glad to hear you say this. It's wonderful writing and scholarship, I can see why Fraser won a Pulitzer for it! And... I am consistently enraged by Rose's lies and hypocrisy, and frustrated by Laura too. I rarely hate-read but oh man...

My ICQ UIN is 7231680. That number is burned into my consciousness. I inadvertently learned that you could see private conversations in public chat rooms when using Telnet instead of a browser on GeoCities. I can tell you the difference in audible dial-up handshakes between 1200, 2400, 14.4 kbps modems. I needed a edu email address to join Facebook after my university was admitted. We were here at the beginning. We made social media. You wouldn't be in my Top 8. I have usernames older than you.

New research suggests antibodies from people with ME/CFS and Long COVID may directly change how cells handle energy and inflammation.
The study found these antibodies may fragment mitochondria and alter immune signals.

Long-COVID Sufferer Awarded Nearly $1M After Employer Refused to Let Her Work From Home | Law.com
A jury in Nassau County awarded $954,000 to a longtime employee of Stony Brook University Hospital Blood Bank.
A woman with Long Covid won almost one million dollars in a lawsuit against her employer who refused to allow her work from home accommodations.
May this set a precedent.
Remote work should be accessible to all who need it.
Itβs a game changer for people with disabilities.

Talia Winters is looking down and is clearly upset.
Wikipedia screenshot. Text says βIn the final scene, Talia discovers that Ironheart had left her the gift of telekinesis. Straczynski originally had planned to use these powers later in the series. The way that Thompson played this final scene was inspired by her recently becoming pregnant with her child with her real-life partner, co-star Jerry Doyle. She reflected, "When I first found out that Jerry and I were expecting. It's a magical gift, but at the same time, you're terribly afraid. It's all about the unknown, and you have that sense that your life is changing, that something has happened, you can never turn back."β
S1E6. Ironheart gifts Winters w telekinesis. Apparently the actor Andrea Thomspon had just become pregnant w her partner (co-star Jerry Doyle, Garibaldi). So in this scene she focused on how itβs magical, and unknown, and youβre afraid.
Disability & pregnancy have many overlaps.

Ironheart speaking to Sinclair with sincerity. "The Psi Corps is dedicated to one thing, commander. Control."
Ironheart says "Can you imagine what they would do with it? What anyone would do with it?"
Ironheart has a wistful, pained look as he says "This is a power we were never meant to have. We're not ready for it."
S1E6. This scene is so good! Straczynski must've been a fan of Octavia Butler's Patternmaster series about psychics, right?? I would give a lot to know if she ever saw this episode and what she thought of it.
