a parody of an early internet 'meme' with a photoshopped dolphin with a headset next to an old PC with CRT monitor, on a white to pink gradient, with the text 'i don't give a single heck about a stranger's opinion on the "internet" i'm way more interested in garlic bread have you ever eaten fucking garlic bread?! it's delicious'

Needless to say, an absolute classic. Perfect world-building and great setpieces. Also, Kurt Russell throws a knife straight into someone's head, which will happen again in 1986's Big Trouble in Little China 8/10

having close friends and family in the LGBTQ community means picking up a lot of queer cultural touchstones through osmosis but also understanding that every once in a while you’re going to hear about something called β€œblunching” and know instantly that it’s none of your business

hmmm, yeah, this wasn't great. Was there really an audience demand for the Gale/Dewey romance arc? Or was that a result of Neve Campbell only wanting to be involved in filming for 20 days and a rushed script? 6/10

A very welcome and worthy entry in the 'killer doll' subgenre. We watched the PG-15 cut, and I think I would've liked a bit more gore & kills, which are supposedly present in the unrated cut, but it was still a lot of fun nonetheless 8/10

Verbally acknowledging each others' sneezes is easily one of the dumbest things humans insist on doing and the fact that some people get really worked up if you don't do it is fucking wild to me

Ahahahahah, that was fun! Death sure loves its trickles of liquid and high tension wires! This film definitely felt like a product of its time, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There were some less-than-stellar CGI moments though. 7/10

most cutting thing you can say is "who's this clown?" because it implies they're a) a clown & b) not even one of the better-known clowns

It's gonna take me a while to process this one. I wasn't expecting the many scenes of sexual violence, which made it an uncomfortable experience. I was expecting goofy new wave alien wackiness. I think there was a valid subtext behind it, but I'm just not very good at reading subtext. 6/10
