Thank you, my friend! πββοΈ
Friends, many thanks for the kind birthday wishes yesterday. To be honest, at my advanced age, I just avoided any festivities and stayed out in the Wastelands of Fallout 76... lounging in my goo tub.
Friends, as with any job, there are lows and highs when working at a movie theater. But when you have the opportunity to screen something as exceptional as Baz Luhrmann's EPiC in an IMAX theater... you remember why you were drawn to the theater in the first place.
Friends, had the pleasure of hosting a screening of Labyrinth after work for members of our theater Family. For quite a few this turned out to not only be their first viewing of the Henson masterpiece - but their first taste of David Bowie as well.
40 years later and Labyrinth is still amazing!
Thank you, my friend - a very Happy New Year to you as well!
Thank you, my friend. Let us see what 2026 has to offer!
Friends, I hope you are all having a very safe and Happy New Year. I spent the eve with my theater Family serving 2000 patrons who were catching the Stranger Things finale and other films.
2025 was not a good year for my household. Personally or professionally. I expect better of 2026.
Friends, being a member of the theater Family means that we are expected to miss out on the Holidays.
So, that is why my better half and I had to wait until tonight to celebrate the Holiday with my Father. In addition to a wonderful meal, I received some fantastic gifts from my good friends!
"I don't know if it's art, but I know I like it." - Walt Disney
Friends, my better half surprised me with an early gift.
"... For these beings, fall is the ever normal season, the only weather, there be no choice beyond."
Friends, getting to catch Trick'r Treat on the big screen was an absolute delight. Watching Michael Dougherty's love letter to Halloween was made all the better by seeing it with some of the theater Family... and even scaring a couple of them after the screening! π
Friends, had the pleasure of catching an early screening for TRON: Ares - film was quite fun to say the least. As a longtime fan of the TRON franchise, was grateful for the obvious love for the previous films throughout the movie.
Grateful to spend a few hours on the Grid once again!
It's behind me, isn't it? Always a treat to hit the Spirit Halloween to celebrate the upcoming season - although I am a little concerned about my new friend following me home. π
"Tell me, have you the brawn to match the riddle me this, why are you like a bride on her wedding day? Because you're about to be unveiled."
Friends, I have over the years shared my love of the character of the Riddler... on more than one occasion.
"I keep telling you, this isn't 'a few birds'! These are gulls, crows, swifts...!" - The Birds (1963)
Friends, was able to take a night off with my better half and stumbled across this Funko Pop of Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) from The Birds.
It doesn't happen often - but some roles require the shearing of my beard. π½οΈ
I don't know about young... π€£
"It's kryptonite, Superman. A little piece of the rock you were born on. I've spared no expense to make you feel right at home." - Superman (1978)
Friends, had the pleasure of catching the new Superman film with members of the theater family last night - a whole lot of fun.
"Dr. Grant, my dear Dr. Sattler, welcome... to Jurassic Park." - Jurassic Park (1993)
Friends, just because it is busy with the opening of Jurassic World: Rebirth - that doesn't mean we can't have some fun while serving the patrons!
Going to be a long wait until November, my friend. π
Well, Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein looks incredible. Absolutely incredible. π
Friends, if you have a moment, check out the awesome Ghost Rider video that was released to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the character of Johnny Blaze.
Friends, there is a new article up, discussing the first segment of 1985's The Twilight Zone - "Shatterday" - which just so happened to feature Bruce Willis.
Friends, a new article is up on the site and the subject is Atari's upcoming Missile Command Delta. If you have a few minutes, check it out.
Thank you, my friend. The Gonk Droid is definitely in my top ten to be sure! π€
Friends, as today is May the 4th, I thought I would talk about 5 of my favorite Droids in Star Wars.
What an absolutely fantastic ad! πΉοΈ
