While i though it was an odd addition, i say it was kinda funny to see the deltarune cast in a recreation of Mario bros was kinda fun. The only actually odd thing for me it's the fact that Noelle was ommited as a playble character, when this minigame was added in the section 2 update, i think.
Tbf, they were canon since frontiers as the game namedrops Tangle twice (One in a possible interaction with the island, and in the ending by Amy)
