I never understood the “it’s so bad it’s good” mentality… there are too many great movies out there to watch something just to goof on it.

No. I have responsibilities that require me to have an income. My job is to convince someone to pay me to make my dream project.

When I have a super involved page, I try to pair it with a “gimme” page, which is much easier to ink. I don’t work in order.

My next book, out July 22. Had a lot of fun with this one. It takes a simple sentence structure and uses it throughout. (The camper camps in the camp. The gardener gardens in the garden.) Wherever books are sold!

The other thing they look at is how many people finished the show. Let’s say a million people watched the first episode, and only 250k watched the last episode… that’s not a success… but if 500k watch your first, and 500k watch the last, that’s a success.

Huh? Cobras were all over pulp fiction/comics and kids’ tv in the 60s/70s…

But, I bet you could follow most of those shows without watching them. Sterling actually tells you what the episode is about. Most sitcoms too.

We had a screenwriting teacher in the 80s who said the main difference between movies and TV is that you can follow a TV show from another room. TV has always been over-written.

Can you get the ones one row back for less?

I once had a student ask me who I thought the best soccer player was… and I said just look up the stars. I said “You favorite might be different than the best…” they had a hard time accepting that.

Love this! When I was in 6th grade, in 1980, my mother drove me 30 minutes away to evening classes at the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning. Since it was such a long drive, she waited outside in her car the whole 3 hour class. She did this once a week for 8 weeks! ❤️

NJ has made Media Literacy part of the required curriculum. Some states are banning books, others are living in 2025.

Good vibes. Two weeks ago I mentioned that I wanted to learn to make Summer Rolls to a co-volunteer at a local foodbank. She’s mid 70s, born in Vietnam. Today she brought me all the ingredients, sauces, and a sample roll! (Last pic, my work.) One of the kindest gestures I’ve ever experienced. ❤️🥲
