We're still in disbelief that any MLA would try to repeal the entirety of the Human Rights Code. For over 50 years, this law has protected you from discrimination. Tell your MLA: Improve the law, don't shred it. win.newmode.net/bchumanrights

That is so cool!
Independent MLA Tara Armstrong introduced a bill in BC today to repeal the BC Human Rights Code, abolish the Human Rights Tribunal, and fire the BC Human Rights Commissioner. And the BC Conservatives supported the bill.

Trans rights are human rights & anything that happens to them can happen to you.
You want a canary in the coalmine? That happened long ago, USA. Wake up.
They're taking driver's licenses away from trans people. That's... VITAL identification. Can they even LEAVE the country? Maybe not.

You should not be working on the railroad all the live-long day, nor should you be working on the railroad just to pass the time away. You should be working on the railroad for the duration of a reasonable shift, for fair wages.
Oh look, itβs the consequences of your actions. β¦. Now do Tara!
OMG, someone made an *anonymous* donation of $50,000 to the Tumbler Ridge GoFundMe organized by the town's families.
Let's keep it going, Canada.
Corporate greed, particularly among grocery monopolies, is whatβs really driving up food prices in Canada.
βEconomists have long argued that Canadaβs grocery monopolies need to be broken up to create more competition, leading to lower prices and improved food security.β
Itβs a PUBLIC SERVICE that is partially user-funded.

Wishing you good health and a full recovery. Thank you for sharing.
Your turn, @mark-carney.bsky.social.
"Your mountainness inhumanity."
What a powerful performance. I never thought Shakespeare's words would be so relevant to live today. But here we are.
Guy who opened Canadian print media up to American ownership says what, now?
I appreciate Harper for coming out soundly against America the weekend after Poilievre got re-confirmed as leader, but letβs not pretend Harper bears no responsibility for where we are now. He does. A lot.
This is so beautiful! More than a timeline cleanse. Maybe even a soul cleanse? π
France continues to not fuck around with American technocracy.
Sure would be nice or us Canadians could get on their page too.
Between X and PostMedia, weβre letting the enemy in our front door, because theyβre both controlled by the worst America has to offer.

Iβm also feeling so very sad to know sheβs gone. She was a truly special person and a Canadian treasure.
baffling that the media isnβt making more of an issue out of how carney is gutting key federal agencies/depts and what thatβs going to mean for gov capacity when weβre supposed to be more independent and capable.

If you're a BC resident and hate culture war politics and racism we could sure use some donations to fuel the Recall Tara Armstrong campaign. You can donate here: recallarmstrong.ca/donate
Good news! Iβm glad they chose to make it public.

I came downtown to volunteer & getting here was depressing, for reasons.
But then I prepared food for 3 hours that will feed the less fortunate. I became part of the solution for a bit.
I implore you to consider volunteering if the world makes you feel hopeless.
Good people are doing good. #yyj
Imagine walking into a grocery store where the goal is feeding people, not buying Galen another yacht.
βPublic grocery stores work, and theyβd save Canadians 30-45%. We need to stop letting these corporate parasites bleed us dry.
Food costs up 30%. Grocer profits up 120%. They are robbing us.

This is another piece of Canadian history I'm just hearing for the first time. On one side, a gov't dehumanizing people.
And then on the other side, an incredible human who dedicated his life to service, kindness, and transformational change that has a lasting and positive impact on our country.
