Oh I miss Folklore Thursdays! So glad to have you back 😁.

I had a great time telling Isle of Wight history and folktales at Lanesend and Northwood primary schools on Wednesday.

The children were all wonderful. They tested their smuggling skills, held an Iron Age trial and their enthusiasm for stories made the day so much fun!

When beautiful, beloved Baldr died Hel agreed to release him from the afterlife if every living being wept for him.

If only such deals could be truly made.

I get to do a lot of fun things for work. Spending the evening sitting by a bonfire chatting with Professor Alice Roberts about oral history and storytelling for a TV documentary is definitely up there.
