Saturday March 7th was the warmest day of the year here so far. Spring is not officially here yet but don't tell that to the flowers.

NORCAL. Bald, older dude. π» π³οΈβπ πΊπ¦ π¬π± π€ͺ Formerly NSFW-ish depending on mood. Do not repost anything from here. Do not follow if you have an empty account. I'm quick at blocking. I drink (occasionally). And I know things.

All 6 clocks in the house are now advanced 1 hour ahead except for the thermostat. It's a lot easier to push them ahead than to pull them back an hour. π°οΈ
I don't hate doing this. I just don't like the reason why.
Happy birthday. I'm just five days behind you.
Defiance til death.
I'm perfectly fine not being the part of any viral meme. I have to look at myself everyday and from every angle as it is. I've seen enough. I find an odd comfort being just another number within the masses.
It's not the posture so much as the face and hair.
During the week I also did some much needed research. See the picture below. It depressed me yet gave me hope for my retirement days. As flawed as it is, gaining understanding of our deeply flawed system makes the future seem more doable. It was oddly calming as I became less confused.
I'm learning that you should not get into a rut and vary your routine from day to day if possible.
Find something to keep you busy and keep moving.
Exercise from home with simple stretches and movement.
Cook more at home to save money and eat better.
Get the fuck off the internet when possible.
My staycation ends Monday, and I've learned that all staycations for me now are practice retirement sessions. There were low energy days for me followed by a few generally enjoyable day where I went out and did something. Weather has a great effect on my mood, yet I can do things to counter that.
This give off ex sister-in-law vibes to me. No thank you.
Yeah I can see my house from there.
I thought that's why they're building Soylent factories.
I like it when sometimes you hear an old song that you've completely forgotten and for some reason it just hits.
Spring is coming. Warmer weather or the prospects of it help me.
Some of the good stuff you're missing on Mastodon (never thought I'd ever say that).
Hank Green is always a bit too rambly for me. He's best when he's doing a SciShow segment where they put time constraints on him.
Today's lunch. Thought I'd give this a try. It was okay though I probably will pass on it in the future.
Pouncy. The cat that can ride a bike. Or actually on a bike. youtube.com/shorts/iUAyo...
Monochrome Monday.
Because I've got the week off, and I'm already bored.
I can never get fajitas to sizzle at home. Always best to go out for them.
So you openly admit to selling out to SkyNet just for a photo enhancement? Good to know when the time comes, and you're trying to seek shelter with the remains of humanity. π
Today I made some soup from a recipe that I've used before, but forgetting I'd used half portions. I had to keep transferring into larger pots after I realized what was going on. π«’ Now I've got soup for a week or more and only 8 hours a day to chow down on it.
Thanks for the Tupperware mom! βΊοΈ
Maybe they're just upset that they don't get invites to leather night. π
Bonus content with cheap effect.
I did a 5 mile hike today that I used to do all the time almost 13 years ago. Today it really pushed my limits since I haven't been on here for years.
I needed this, and I will do more hiking this summer in my off time. I stopped about halfway through to get this video and cool off.
That's exactly what I do.
Out of sight. Out of mind.
I slept in today to 6 am vice 5 am. I'm calling that a win. Once you retire and the stress is gone, you'll get the rest you need. At least that's what I'm seeing on all these YouTube videos about retirement.
I don't eat in moderation. I just make sure I don't eat like the apocalypses is coming, and I'm trying to store survival fat.
And then there's the JeepScamp channel where a David Attenborough knock-off voice is used. I stopped watching him not because of the AI but because I got sick of seeing these montages of him making coffee or breaking camp. Apparently he thinks that's both cinematic and virtuous. I find it tedious.
Yup, Geology Hub is by an actual volcanologist. The information he puts out is solid. And he'll let you know if some of his information may be off in some instances. I prefer the AI voice as weird sounding as it is to his kinda high school student sounding voice.
