I'm not local to the area and have been trying to research both the Monterey Canyon and the Mariana Trench. I taught my autocorrect bad habits! Sorry!

Sorry, I was trying to refer to around Monterey Bay. (It was a stupid autocorrect I totally missed)The Monterey Canyon being so important to the ecology there. I was worrying about groups looking to exploit and cause major damage to it. The discussions to remove the sanctuary status are concerning.

Any thoughts about the impact to southern sea otters if deep sea mining is allowed in the Pacific? I'm thinking specifically about the Mariana Trench and surrounds. (Love the keystone species)
... And can you please tell the local sharks there sea otters aren't fatty enough to be food? 🤣
